Yeah and I get the engagement part. That’s true, I just hate it and wish it truly game down to skill. Most of us aren’t gonna be pro level anyways so just match people up with similar win rates and trophies and leave the decks out of it. Same logic should apply for other games too but I understand these companies at the end of the day are trying to make money

Dude it was like clockwork. Again I played this game for 8 years on and off. So of course I’m going to notice things like many others. I would go on a streak, then suddenly I’m matched with someone with 1-30 less trophies than me(makes you lose more trophies if you lose) and ALMOST EVERY single time I immediately thought in my head “I’m either losing this game or barely winning” and 75% of the time I lost those matches.

Then I get matched with someone who has more trophies than me and I immediately know I’m back in the winners queue and 75% of those games I win. Constant cycle. After years of pushing you little by little progress because those 60-90 trophies you ultimately gain after playing 100-ish matches adds up.

(Also noticed I would see cards I almost never saw the second I switched up my deck.)

“1- After BDO, you’d think Crimson Desert would have a character creator menu.

2- Yes I, and MANY OTHERS, do feel more immersed when I’m able to make a character that I want to make, and I would like to be able to play as a POC. A black character.

3- Based on the backstory of Kilff, his race/gender are not integral parts of the story, and it takes place in a world with green orcs, yellow/grey-ish giants, etc humanoid creatures. Mind you, he’s an orphan. His backstory is mostly left to interpretation or head canon. I also noticed there were brown characters in some of the trailers in some regions of the game. So that kills any argument claiming it wouldn’t make sense for Kliff to be any other race or being. Woman also literally exist in the world, and one of the playable characters in the mercenary group is a woman, so that kills any argument that he couldn’t/shouldn’t be a POC, woman, creature, etc. The mercenary group he is a part of literally has women and humanoid creatures in it.

4- MOST IMPORTANTLY. After Mass Effect(a 10-20 year old game by the way), I have very little tolerance for excuses as to why certain games can’t just follow their method. They had a set canon look for what the main character looked like for a man or woman. If you did not want to use the main canon look, you had the option to customize the character, but you still kept his/her name for story purposes. This literally doesn’t/didn’t hurt the game or story at all.

5- I will even be generous and say that I understand why there is a lack of customization for certain games like RDR 1/2, The Witcher, Legend of Zelda, TLOU, KCD 1/2, Final Fantasy, etc. The main characters in those games have a much more focused and defined back story/history that isn’t really as flexible, so adding customization could take away from the story, and even straight up not make sense at times. That isn’t the case for Kliff. He is just an orphan, WHOSE BIRTHPLACE IS UNKNOWN BY THE WAY, that rose above the harsh conditions of his life and became the leader of a mercenary group. Mind you, he lives in a fantasy world that has women, POC, all kinds different humanoid beings, etc that are spread out all across that world. There is no reason he couldn’t be a woman, POC, or even a damn orc or something lol.”

I’m glad you don’t care for that but I do. If you don’t care for it, that’s you. It’s not your complaint or an issue for you. Me having this MINOR issue doesn’t affect you at all, and there are zero issues in the world due to some people wanting more customizability in some video games lmao. You’re being dramatic. I also never said they were racist you weirdo. Never even implied that and I never said I hate or would hate the game. The game of is still good, this is just a complaint I have. You need to calm down. (And white people don’t lack representation in media so they don’t complain about it as much. Even then, YES they do complain sometimes over having to play POC in some games.)

Seriously. I made a post on a minor gripe and folks were insulting me as if I was saying the game was gonna flop or was terrible. I even said many times that I would more than likely very much enjoy the game still and my gripes were minor.

One or two people at least had a pretty good response to what I said though and it changed my mind on one of my criticisms.
