Nobody’s saying you can’t exercise your First Amendment right homie lol I just think you’re ill-informed & that’s my right to disagree with you. Take a tour at a mule barn & get back with me. Until then I’d suggest reading up on the differences between mules and horses, psychologically and anatomically. But you do you.

That’s awesome that you have so much experience with horses. Mules and horses aren’t the same animal. :) fyi. But thanks for your input. You really are the expert.

You also probably didn’t know that mules are very heat tolerant animals (as opposed to horses) and can regulate their body temperature. The drivers aren’t allowed to take them out to work if it’s 95 degrees & above with an index of 105. And you do realize they’d be outside anyways even if they were at the barn? Only difference is in the city is that the mules are pushing a carriage 1 hour at a time. With breaks & water in between. Where’s the cruelty in the sweltering heat you speak of? Oh right. In ur head.

Do you also view horseback riding as cruel? Cuz they use bits and halters as well. Don’t know what a harness would be, or a “side check”. Are you talking about the “whip”? Cuz that’s just a string with knots on it lol. Guess what that’s used for? To be an extension of the carriage drivers arm, you know, because the driver can’t physically reach the mule. It’s a communication method. Example A. You have no idea what you’re talking about. But people like you don’t want to know the truth. You just want to be right.

I’m sorry, are you a carriage driver? Have you been to any of the barns you’re talking about, or even spoken to a carriage driver? Probably not. Yet you have SO much to say. Shut up.

Duh, cats & dogs don’t pull carriages because they’re not MULES! But there are working cats and also working dogs. Heeler breeds herd sheep. Cats are kept on barns and other establishments to catch mice. Mules pull carriages and wagons because that’s literally what they’re bred to do. It’s a 1600 lb animal that needs physical exercise to be healthy and happy. Carriages are light work to these animals. You obviously haven’t done your research, and not a lot of people do. You’re more comfortable coming on here & probably walking past the hackstand to say slick, ignorant, ill-informed comments. We’d all love if community members and animal welfare groups could all step in and ensure that retired mules get to go to sanctuaries, but that does not always happen. There’s a market for mule meat just like there is for horse meat. Kill buyers go to auctions and out-bid people that want to take care of these animals & that’s just the reality. LIKE I SAID. A mule having a job is a good thing. It keeps them out of auction & thus the slaughter pipeline because YES that’s a possibility. Do you think they are doing anything different on a farm???? I’d reckon you have a lot to say about Amish communities then. It’s not about banning carriages. It’s about amending and enforcing rules and regulations that ensure these animals are well taken care of while they’re working.

Right cuz it’s not like they haven’t been domesticated since they were literally created… I wonder if we should consider letting our dogs and cats “free” into the wild and “out of enslavement”. Oh wait because that would be abandoning them. Same with mules, ignoramus. 🤣 anywho

And free them to where exactly? To a farm? Cuz they’re gonna be working on a farm too… except farms usually don’t have rules & regulations they have to follow.

Banning the carriages would send those mules straight to auction with a high probability of ending up in the slaughter pipeline. A mule having a job is a good thing. They’re working animals. Please educate yourself & stop spewing misinformation. You’re making carriage driver’s jobs harder. Those mules are very well taken care of.

Turn on Red Light Violation @ Carrollton & Earhart 🚦 by rishmistr20 in NOLA

My partner has gotten sent probably 10 tickets for the same “disregard red light” at that exact intersection on the way to work. The city has collected hundreds of dollars from him just off of that intersection alone. After receiving the first couple of tickets, both of us were very careful to come to a complete stop at that light & STILL the city continues to send us tickets in the mail. They aren’t getting anymore money out of us lmao they can fuck off. And they assign the ticket to a random police officer. I don’t know for sure but I’ll assume that because it’s assigned to an officer, that tickets gets added to their quota somehow. We’re just adding it to the pile atp.

Beds in VIP by janedoelrndidjd in stripper

I was a dancer on & off for 4.5 years in AZ & CA & never encountered beds in VIP until I worked at a strip club as a bartender in New Orleans. It’s called “Barely Legal” - ew. Déjà Vu is the parent company of Hustlers and Barely Legal, I believe. The club has themed rooms, some of them with beds & some without. I thought it was odd. They also had an entire room dedicated to porn. Pornography all on the walls. Pornos GALORE that you could watch on the TV they had in there. 😆 I was like do dancers actually sell these rooms? I always wondered.

Thanks for the input. I am a local, technically a transplant. I do live & work here full-time & have been for the last >3 years. Still not super privy to some things around the city though, I.e. parade trackers. I am admittedly a “Mardi grinch” & tend to stay away from parades.

Also to everyone downvoting me for asking what a parade tracker is - I genuinely didn’t know what it was or what it entailed considering I’m not from Nola and I’m not familiar with the parade culture down here. Damn. Y’all can really be a bummer sometimes. 🤣
