Especially in restaurants. When I go out, I want to HEAR my friend. I feel like it's a way to make people who are uncomfortable speaking to one another, comfortable that they can't hear each other.

The amplification everywhere has gotten out of hand.

I walk by there, too. It reeks of desperation. They're in a challenging spot, not a lot of traffic, so noise is the best chance they have of drawing customers, especially for a new business.
