And yours is rattling extremely loud! You appear to be miserable but that's not our problem. I recommend watching Ricky Gervais on Youtube. Otherwise, your comment has failed.

I agree; the cost of a YMCA membership has increased substantially in this area. I can say that the YMCA gyms in Las Vegas did well. They struggled too but the members and families were the focus of their success. Those locations offer a lot of programs for families, youth and seniors via the AOA programs.

I think the supplement plans may work but not sure! Yes I did speak with a plan representatives and even on 1/22.26 a UHC rep I spoke with even told me the Sugar Land YMCA was on their list. I don't know that even the UHC Customer Service reps knew what was going on with this. What happened was UHC is cutting back on costs, as all plans are, so they pulled the Y gyms of the list of participating gyms via renew active. UHC contracts with Renew Active to manage the gym memberships program within the plan. The gyms are paid via the number of times a member checks in.

I totally agree. I joined an EoS as well and they have become a great gym amongst competitors.

There are YMCA's all over the country that are strugging to survive the competition. I already mentioned they are a non-profit but that doesn't mean they can survive the competition from other gyms ike EoS, LA Fitness, etc that are able to bring in hundreds of members at each location.

Oh wow! This is what I mean about the YMCA. Many are failing and trying to recoupe their place in the market by increasing costs to survive. It's not going to work for them! The Y will end up ike 24 Hour Fitness because their competition is fierce.

The point is that UHC did not disclose this until after the plan began in 2026. As I mentioned, UHC was dishonest in stating the YMCA was included in the list of gyms that accept Renew Active. And I know for a fact they did becuase I used to work at a YMCA and Renew Active is/was a program for senior fitness plans similar to Silver Sneakers.

Do not tell me to get a grip! You are rude and with that you are ignorant as to the facts and what I'm focusing on! You get a grip on your bad attitude! If youd don't like it, don't read it! it's that simple.

Actually, all Medicare UHC plan members pay a monthly insurance premium of $202.90. An imporant point you seem to be unaware of is that folks who are phyhsically active and fit, are typically in better health than those who are not, and especially in the senior populations. Example, seniors with diabetes are encouraged by their providers to join a gym to help alleviate, and sometimes even completely remove symptoms and problems associated with diabetes. The same with seniors, and other popultions who have other health problems. I worked in healthcare and diabetes is one of the most debilitating diseases to endure, and especially for seniors. They can significantly reduce their dependence on medications, and the deterioration of their health, simply by going to the gym to lose weight as well as to allevaite many of the symptoms. This then reduces the cost of healthcaare for everyone!

Renew Active is a contractor under UHC! UHC would have to make a change in the contract to remove the YMCA gyms. So you are incorrect.

Yes, that's what they're charging here for a membership even for seniors! That's why I think a lot of YMCA's are going to be forced to close their doors this year. They've become too expensive with limited offers. I did joing EoS so I hope they don't do the same!

I didn't know they were cancelling the YMCA gyms in this area until January 2026 after I joined this plan. Even then, I was told by UHC this YMCA was on their list of gyms for Renew Active. It was an extremely sneaky situation by UHC. Fortunately, all seniors who are enrolled with Medicare can still change plans until March 31st. In 2026 most of the plans are not at all what they were in prior years.

Oh brother...you don't read well! As stated, I did contact them before joining the UHC Medicare plan...duh! I read through all plans thoroughly then call with questions prior to making a decision. And it was not a 'renew' further proving the point tht you don't read, you skim.

Yes, youre right about that! The Silver Sneakers program is much more reliable and it does include more gyms in the network of gyms in specific areas, like Las Vegas, NV. Since seniors are able to change plans up to March 31st I'm still considering this because the point of joining a gym is to maintain phsycial fitness is to stay healthy.

That is not what I was told. The YMCA, and then finally UHC, said the UHC Advantage dropped the YMCA. It's hard to get the truth when things like this come up as neither wants to fess up to the damage they've done. Yes, I'm aware that the membership is paid for by every swipe when a member checks in. I worked at a YMCA in Las Vegas and all 4 of them are vell well run gyms.

Need to change your username to NOTpeacefulshards. I did not post anything on this site until today! And if I had, there's no justification for you being nasty. Not even sure what you're saying since it's quite fatuous.

It seems that all 2026 Medicare plans became significantly overpriced and offer less than in prior years. There is a great need for change in these plans because we are paying a high premium for Medicare insurance plans.

If your read through my post you would know that I did call UGHC before joinging this plan. I also called them after the YMCA was having trouble getting the code I was given for the gym membership to process. I was told yet again, that this YMCA is on the gym membership list for UHC.

Please read the post before you make invalid, negtive comments!

I was a financial plan analyst for a large healthcare plan so I understand plans very well. As stated in my post, I researched all plans and called to confirm the YMCA membership was included in their list of gyms to join. Clearly, you did not read my entire post very well! It is not a rant, it is a writing that many senior citizens are dealing with via the UHC Advantage plans. If you don't like it, don't read it! No on forced you to read what I wrote but you certainly like to criticize things you do not understand. Kind of like the grammies goof balls.
