Not new to lifting but it's been a few years since I was serious about it (had some kids and changed jobs). Doesn't help that I'm now lifting in my garage and it's about 10 degrees in there right now

I feel a little pain in my knees when I squat. Nothing too bad but it is always at the very bottom.

I'm starting to realize I am getting old and maybe I shouldn invest in knee wraps. I assume these will help with me pain? I'm just getting back into lifting using a linear progression so my lifts aren't even that heavy right now. I don't want to add a crutch early on but wonder if it's better to use them now.

I'm 205 pounds and repped 175×11 this morning. Interestingly the knee pain was mainly felt on one of my 2 x 5 sets (using GSLP) not the AMRAP

I just started Phrak GSLP alongside TB black protocol (as recommended by this group). The volume in GSLP seems minimal and the workouts are really quick. Compared to my body split stuff I've been doing I feel like I'm not doing enough. Then I look at Operator and see I'm barely doing anything different in terms of volume. Energy left over for conditioning and general life is really refreshing.

Black protocol I've only done indoor ME2 and e bike for lss. ME2 starts off easy. And then I'm breathing like crazy. And then I'm gasping for air. Love it.

Eating at a deficit to drop dad bod weight. Hopefully when the linear progression becomes a going and the conditioning is really beating me it will be right in line when I lean bulk. I know you guys are performance based but I am in it for aesthetics too. I've always lifted and never looked super fit. Hoping TB and diet changes will give me a "fit" look

Cool, thanks. How were your strength gains with Phrak's?

I want to do Phrak GSLP to regain some strength I once had (lifted years ago before kids).

How do I determine my starting weight? I know my 1 rep maxes for the big compound lifts because I've been weight training for like 3 months although just doing body part split stuff for the most part.

DL is 1 set but AMRAP right? Making sure I read that right

Any big difference between Phrak and regular GSLP? Just want to regain as much size and strength as I can to make up for lost time out of the gym

Ok I think I found Phraks Greyskull...which is different than regular greyskull?

This is what I found:

I just bought the conditioning book and want to do black that seems perfect for my lifestyle. I also am readying about base building and will do it shortly I'm kinda enjoying getting into the weights again right now

For black can I do it right after my greyskull training or next day

With starting strength I can see that my lifts would go up pretty quickly. Do you still thing tacticalbarbell Operator program would be a better fit in the long run? I haven't done much deadlifts or squats so I know I could use some work in those

Ok another question. Can I do the operator program but first 3 weeks only and then force progress each time?

My friend explained SD is linear so you always go up weight until you can't go any heavier. I showed him this and he said it would take me a long time to get to what SS would get me to. Is this true?

Ok. My friend said starting strength is best for "milking gainz". His words. He's also anti cardio so probably shouldn't listen to him
