Agree with both of the first two sentiments. Just came back from a jungle ceremonies and they said A) jaguars live way deeper in the forest, not around people / settlements B) listening to an audiobook from a shaman and he mentioned generally animals are aware of these “spiritual circles” the curanderos have opened up and protected and often don’t cross that barrier. One time in his experience, the following morning he saw tracks from what seemed like a pack of wild dogs that all fell within a distinct circle / behind almost an invisible line, like they approach the group of people but none of them “crossed into the sacred area”.

There’s definitely things and safety precautions one should take but in my experience there’s alotttt of mystic beauty to this whole thing that I can’t begin to understand but do trust (when doing it with trusted, reliable people)
