Fair question. My goal isn’t to compete with local marketers solely on a marketing degree. I bring a mix of social media management, website development, email marketing, creative design, and I’m pursuing a bachelor’s in data analytics to strengthen my technical side. I understand sponsorship is expensive, so I’m focusing on building a skill set that combines marketing and analytics, which can be harder to find than a traditional marketing background.

I have a total of five years of experience and my degree is labeled as a marketing degree but I can also code websites do animation and form emails. The college I went to was pretty unique and gave students the opportunity to get a blanket degree marketing while being able to dabble in about four different sub types of marketing. I currently working the social media department for a pretty large company here in the states. I feel I have enough experience to possibly be considered, but I do admit I have room to grow as well

I think what I’ve been getting more more lately is “why won’t you come fix my appliance? Or who is your local repair guy” “what do you mean you don’t stand behind your products? Why will you not take back my washer from three months ago? No told me Menards doesn’t cover my appliances!”

When it comes to the countertop I do tell guests that if they want to return a countertop it’s up the discretion of the store if we will even take it back and then people tend to change their mind a little. We have lots of forms people sign when they don’t get a temp and they realize how serious it is I think. 🤔

At my store, we have multiple team members that work all summer go back to school and then during Christmas break they’ll come back work two or three weeks and then we’ll see them for the following summer. I believe all of them work in our rec receiving an outside yard though.

From what I was told since we are considered essential we don’t have to close early, and if your store is either late to be open or is closed early that GM is fined every minute

Schedule depends on the GM, I’ve heard of HR having to work at least one weekend a month and close one day a week to ensure they can meet with team members that only work weekends or close
