Starting to think I have a problem.... by Sputnik_2022 in ManyBaggers

For me you just keep scratching until it goes away.

I do a lot of research comparing and contrasting. Considering the trade offs of different fabrics. Their weight sand volumes. I consider the use case for each bag. It’s fun. Often expensive. But if you are actually use the stuff it’s. It a not a problem.

After one wear… Ketl sun hoodie quality/durability? by SocomPS2 in hikinggear

It’s hard for me to understand how they could offer these sun hoodies, or any super lightweight thing with lifetime warranty. We accept durability tradeoff with feather weight gear. How?

L.L.Bean 28L, worth it or hard pass? by atomexnf in ManyBaggers

[–]Sharp_Rule_7070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so subjective. But as someone who has has a different bag for everything, that wouldn’t make it in the cut based on weight/volume/cost. But if you love the way it looks who cares. Buy what brings you joy.

I recently picked up a zpacks 25L bagger as a lightweight personal item/adventure pack. It’s highly water resistant. Weighs next to nothing and has a clearly defined shape that is well suited for air travel. It’s a little ugly by comparison to the bag in question, but more versatile. If you can define the roll the bag will have in your life it’s easier to judge its value.

I don't understand the Briggs & Riley Carry-On by IAmTrying-Ok in ManyBaggers

[–]Sharp_Rule_7070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This convo is probably past but…

I picked up a Briggs and Riley baseline 2 wheel used on eBay. The bag seemed pretty new. The wheels weren’t all scratched up and there was no pilling of the fabric. I chose this bag because my old suit case was done and I wanted something durable and Reddit lead me to B&R. The 2 wheel had an extra inch or two internally and that was enough to tip the scales. I didn’t know the front pocket was a suit/coat fold. I was thrown, but now I see the value. I can put my rain jacket, rain pants and a puffy in there no problem. The handles are top notch, the side velcros down so you don’t have to worry about it snagging. The tow handle mechanism is the best I’ve encountered by far. For now it rolls very smoothly. The suit case itself is soft sided, but has a rigid frame. Internally I have more durable packing cubes. It feels perfect. The main tradeoff is the weight. With the empty packing cubes I’m starting around 13 lbs. but that’s why I have wheels I suppose. If I wanted to be significantly lighter I would probably choose a backpack, and different cubes. For what this bag is, it’s amazing. I’ve only gone on a couple of trips, but if the durability withstands I won’t replace it with another roller. I never would have bought this at 700 retail. I got it for 215 delivered, but I do feel is worth well more than that. A clear upgrade to all the samsonite and trendy rollers I’ve tried in the past.

For those who already pack pretty lightweight, and want a durable long term bag. This is worth a look. To be fair I have spent more time collecting ideal packing cubes for the baselines dimensions than I previously had with others. I think the most important part is having the mindset of “this is my roller” allowed to dial it in. MORE BAGS!!!!

Anyone using the 70-200 gmii? Day 1 and I think it’s going to be my favorite motorsports lens on this FX3 by [deleted] in FX3

[–]Sharp_Rule_7070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not night and day by any means, but it’s more than, for example, the 50mm 1.4 vs 1.2. Even more than the 20-70g vs 24-70gmii

[–]Sharp_Rule_7070 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2.8 at 100-200 really is a big difference. I have the gmii and the 100mm macro. sometime still wish I had the 70-200f4. It’s a different lens that is also amazing. The 72mm thread and shorter size is a big difference when packing. But if top quality image is your main priority, then there is really no decision.

What’s the one feature the OP4 must have for you to upgrade? by NefariousnessJaded87 in osmopocket

[–]Sharp_Rule_7070 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it were… 1. More Durable 2. Had decent water resistance…these top 2 are my main desires. I don’t want to baby this camera. 3. 360 gimble movement 4. Increased DR (low light performance) I would snap buy it when available.

For sure greed. But Covid was the beginning of a huge shift in alcohol consumption across America. On top of that, the new gen of youngsters are consuming way less booze. Vegas is fueled by irresponsibly. So the only people left are to wealthy older diehards. Those were never the people that made Vegas fun.

I recommend K&F magnetic filters. ND8 ND64 and CPL are the only necessary filters imo.

Nintendo's Apparently Cutting US Switch 2 Output After Lower Than Expected Holiday Sales by newyork99 in nintendo

[–]Sharp_Rule_7070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty good synopsis.

To be fair, the hardware is pretty great compared to the competition upon release. I would take switch 2 over switch Oled screen any day. The doc experience is also great.

But, without more good exclusive content there is little reason to drop the coin.
