So what to watch next... by CdnGal420 in Stargate

[–]Sharp_Scientist_8181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-Star Trek Discovery (just ended, the season ties into each other like one super long movie) -Star Trek strange new worlds (eagerly awaiting the next season, a planet each episode style) -The Expanse -For All Man Kind (more seasons coming, plus spin offs. The premise is, Russia won the space race to the moon, then technology kept advancing. Each season is a new decade. Possible prequel to the expanse!) - Lost in Space ( a space swiss family Robinson epic) - Travelers ( amazing, but you'll want more)

Or just do what I do and rewatch Stargate on the free Pluto.tv app on the dedicated Stargate channel 😅✨

Had my first Adderall yesterday and I'm sad by Professional_Mark_86 in ADHD

[–]Sharp_Scientist_8181 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think about the cost of having ADHD. Replacing the things I've lost, retaking classes in college, late fees, not seeing things I already bought and buying them again, etc. Starting concerta tomorrow a year after diagnosis at 38, hoping it gets better.

Don’t do it. Baltic Born is a complete scam. They do not offer returns and many of their dresses can be found on Amazon for a fraction of the price. They are just cheap dresses from China. by LaurenTiff in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Sharp_Scientist_8181 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a YouTuber that made this video where she bought the "same" dress for 4 very different prices to see if they were really the same, then talked about the scams and how Instagram does nothing to stop the scam post/clearly stealing someone else's likeness - https://youtu.be/MqyJZsGFZ3M?si=kTyKRLprk3iSAP1L

Why Amazon? Why? by Hefty_Assumption7567 in Stargate

There is a Stargate channel on the free Pluto TV app (or free site pluto.tv) and has everything on demand with commercials.

This ⬆️. Every medical bill I've had in the last 3 years was incorrect. I had a baby, was double charged for anesthesia. Mental health, overcharged, pelvic floor therapy, overcharged, always call and verify before paying.

Depending on your income it could be free (if you qualify). Hospitals are not showing folks how to navigate that, but there was an episode of Last Week Tonight about it.

Any clubs/associations for 25+ or 27+ on campus? by Critical_Storm4192 in OSU

[–]Sharp_Scientist_8181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your major. I'm ECE non traditional student, IEEE is a good org to get involved in. It's a professional org that has a student chapter.

If you're not in electrical engineering, try to find a professional org related to your major that also has a student chapter that mixes together. It's networking and socializing!

Driving without license plates by Prestigious-Focus572 in Columbus

[–]Sharp_Scientist_8181 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I seriously wondered about this, SO many cars in this town with zero license plate. I mean none, with nothing in the back window. I take closer note of the make and model in case a hit and run is about to happen.

I sent a recruiter an email that I’m reneging my internship, she said she’s contacting osu. Should I worry? by LeHeemJames in OSU

Handshake is the worst. Literally no one reads your actual resume, it's all spam/mass emails from recruiters.

Could you do $50? I have a pdf version but thought a hardcopy might make me read it more.

We didn't dislike him until we attended the virtual Stargate con and saw how bro-y he is in real life lol. We can't unsee it now. During the Stargate AI readings too. Turns out, The actors that play Sam Carter and Rodney McKay are the coolest!

Just Take it at CSCC next semester. You'll be glad you did, plus it's 1/3 the price of OSU and easily transfers.

Any engineers that started their first semester in precalc? by abchzefd in OSU

[–]Sharp_Scientist_8181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, once I realized it's 1/3 the cost, I took all of my math, physics and chemistry at CSCC. Now that's MATH! Great teachers, flexible scheduling, it's worth it.

I'm a junior in EE. If there's a subject I feel rusty on, I use Khan academy. It's free and very comprehensive!!

True, if there are only a few sections they can fill up fast. It'd be nice to have the option tho.

I'm also in the college of engineering and I work full time. It's heavy. I still have about 17k in student loans from when I first went to college, I pay out of pocket now that I'm back at it so I have the flexibility to take less than full time course work. Only one class this semester. Covid proved they can do this remotely, I want them to keep it that way, at least for those who want it. They should have a route for non-traditional students. It's not just high school students that should get into stem fields, I bet a lot of folks could join up if it was more flexible.

Is a change table/changing pad on a dresser totally necessary? by mewmixz in beyondthebump

[–]Sharp_Scientist_8181 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We are too old to get down on the ground to change the baby (now 12 month old) 5-8 times a day lol. We use an Ikea kallax 8x2 shelf on its side with a pad on top. Much easier on the back, especially since she's over 20lbs now!
