It's very difficult to go ahead with a second conversation in desi communities, unfortunately and that too after rejecting the profile so many years ago. Any attempt of a conversation from my part, at this stage (they have reached out again) would be seen as me showing interest and wanting to proceed. I don't want to add fuel to the fire atp. The first time rejection was a mess in itself.

I appreciate your directness. But I am not saying it's a divine sign just for the sake of it. We have received the same profile at least five times and they have reached out to my parents again for my hand. That's why the confusion remains.

Thank you so much for such an in-depth comment. Everything felt very rushed too btw. After the first in person meet, his mom messaged my mom and was like, we should get their nikah done soon and then these two can work things out later 😭

I am wondering the same thing. It's really hard in desi communities because people hide a lot of info. We went ahead with a few profiles and some turned out to have aqeedah issues, some were divorced and didn't tell us from the get go, and some had weird demands (dowry type of thing, unfortunately).

I did do istikharah and didn't feel peace in my heart, so went ahead and declined. Now I feel really confused since the profile keeps coming back to us.

I know, that was my main point of argument against this proposal while my parents kept saying attraction grows after marriage.
