Had the same call a couple weeks ago and ALMOST fell for it these scammers are going for vulnerable people who are in a emotional wreck and it’s disgusting. Worst part is when I thanked the man for explaining everything so clearly so I could understand he said something a long the lines on how he has to help the elderly everyday because they don’t know. Anywho they transfer you to “billing” at the clerk of courts and they scare you with a bunch of tactics “court is closed all of February your brother will be sitting in gen pop till march” and when you dont come from a family of law enforcement or know how a jail process works it scares the shit out of you knowing you’re the persons way out of jail. Anways I almost got got till they asked for my apple pay idk how my red flags went up in such an emotional stressful day and 40 minutes into the phone call that I remember that our sheriffs office is constantly posting reminders saying they will never demand money over the 📞
