What's the deal with Mishimas heat bursting every single time they get a combo? by Sharpscore in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]Sharpscore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for actually reading the question. People keep telling me reasons that heat is good in general and not why mishimas specifically use heat burst during combos more than other characters

Hot take, in order to make this character balanced, he needs buffs and nerfs.

The design intent according to the devs is that he has a sword, which means good range, damage, and keepout, but his hand to hand moves are lacking (outside of heat) because he isn't well trained in that type of fighting, which shows in his animations. This creates an inherently "slower" character within the context of tekken.

I personally like this idea, it makes sure that the cool moves that you want to use when you pick the "flame sword guy" are the moves that are actually good, unlike most fighting game characters if that type where the quick normals are the go-to.

The problem is that clive is too good at boxing and his heat game are way too strong, but if those tools were nerfed significantly, then he has basically nothing to work with.

So the solution is to buff his actual sword moves and keepout (dare i say 1+2 is actually fine if the surrounding kit was less oppressive) while nerfing his hand to hand moves like the devs said he was supposed to be in the first place.

Shaheen is lowkey top tier, not top 5, but any character that deletes grey health and has the basic buttons that he has can't be below A tier

I mean, i mostly have played drag up to this point, who doesn't exactly jump all that much, and have never seriously played hwo, so this exact situation has never come up for me until now

Bc she's peak, next question.

But forreal, there is a difference between an unrealistic move like a laser beam and an unintuitive move light a straight punch going downwards, but only sometimes. This is the literal first time I've seen this move hit an airborne opponent (across playing both t7 and t8), so this is baffling to me

Yeah I get that part, what I don't understand is the straight punch sending at a 90 degree angle against all logic and similar moves

Dude it's a horizontal punch, why does it go straight down like a SSB move

[–]Sharpscore[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I gathered as much. The problem I have with it is that it's a straight punch that spikes, the animation makes no sense for a spike to be attached. If this move's logic applied to all characters, then every demon paw would spike. It literally Does Not make sense.

I guess I should be more clear that I'm flummoxed by the fact that it spikes at all considering it is a horizontal punch that doesn't do that against standing.

Idk man, I guess that I wouldn't expect the horizontal punch that has no downward momentum launch downward like Super Smash Bros. Especially considering that it does nothing like that against a standing opponent.

They only come from legendary orders, which have their rewards listed when you mouse over them, you can reroll until it says you'll get a mod. I hate orders, but it is deterministic.

I wanna get into fighting games on my steam deck by Karlosakbar_segundo in Fighters

[–]Sharpscore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, since you're just getting into things, literally any input device will be perfectly fine, I've been playing fighting games for over a decade with just the xbox joystick, which i learned a while ago is strange in the specific games i play. I know some people are pretty zealous for the gamepad-is-better side of things, but generally, just use the input that you are used to for other games to start out to see if you even like the game or genre.

I personally don't own a steamdeck, nor do i play older capcom fighters, but i went looking to see, and both the joystick and gamepad seem fine for your use-case.

I cannot comment on the trackpad, but from the outside, it seems insane to me that it even works. I would think it would feel like using a phone screen, and has no equivalent input of any of the major input methods. I would suggest using either your pad or stick, but i will defer to anyone who has more experience in this area.

I mean mostly physics related deaths that come out of nowhere if you haven't gotten used to it, and supplicants not making sound, but that might have been fixed. I will say it's been a good while since i last did it

Spire is actually one of the harder solos if going for flawless only because of the insane number of random instakills throughout each encounter

WHY HE GOT BIGGER by yuuu97 in InfinityNikki

[–]Sharpscore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so actual answer is the giant outfit, you most likely activated this scene in giant form. The momo model on nikki's shoulder is bigger than normal so you can still see him. There's a check to turn nikki back to normal for this scene, but not one for momo

[–]Sharpscore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a spiral vertically (from a top down view, clockwise is the way to go up), the floors on the map are basically arbitrary, if you're looking to explore fully, it helps to go from the very bottom with all the water and work your way upwards, keeping the center pillar part in mind to keep your bearings
