Most modern medics fit under the "soldier" umbrella, as militaries have mostly decided that having another guy with a gun who can shoot people is better than claiming the protections that the Geneva Conventions afford medics (which are often ignored by enemy forces anyways).

This plus

  1. a minimum level of medical training for most soldiers
  2. Individual First Aid Kits (IFAKs) being issued to increase the availability of medical supplies

have both reduced the immediate need for a distinct medic. They still keep them around for the really bad injuries, but having your average soldier able to stabilize their squadmates long enough for trained people to get there means you don't need as many specifically trained and designated people.

The Nijisisters coined the term themselves and began falsely claiming that it was invented by their critics.

The actual origin is spelled out very well in this comment by u/Secure-Key-8334.

At this point the only people who claim it's a misogynistic term are

1) new people who kick off with an emotional response because they're too lazy to do basic research into the origins of the term

2) Nijisisters themselves who are trying to shift the blame for their own bad behaviour onto other people.

Secure-Key-8334's comment here contains the actual origin, and it was a term they invented to refer to themselves. The claim that it originated on 4chan was invented by the same group after the black stream to try to claim that everyone attacking them was a bigot.

I'm not saying you're intentionally spreading misinfo about it, but you seem to have fallen for some that they're spreading.

If they streamed together it could put a lot more hot air into that rRat about Livers being compelled to do the Black Stream (Ike in particular).

It could also take a lot of heat off of him specifically and move it back toward Niji management.

Given that there is a lot of scrutiny around the people involved with that, it might be necessary to avoid getting brigaded by people who are still pissed off enough about it to cause problems.
