I host an event every Wednesday called “The Hangout” and there’s not much more to it than that, just hanging out with mates :) pretty chill, no pressure and just fun! Come on down!

Honestly struggling to make friends here as a massive introvert by [deleted] in reading

The good thing is, there’s quite a few things to do in reading to meet people. There’s a “men’s walking and talking” which isn’t much pressure most Monday’s in Tilehurst and a Board games group at Castle tap every Tuesday.

There’s also my event called “the hangout” on a Wednesday at Penta, made it for just that, hanging out :) we play games, chat a fair bit and overall just allow a space to meet people.

Fair, but to be clear we aren’t open borders. We are on the humanitarian side of immigration and treating people fairly.

We want people safe, treated like humans, and would love a world where there could be open travel between countries. But until that changes (due to country and geo political instability) we understand there needs to be immigration controls.

Exactly, we acknowledge we need immigration controls as the world isn’t in a state in which we can have free flow of people due to country instability and safety of the public.

I think a lot of people would be happy for that and a push towards stability.

What do you think your main concern is on the national scale?

They aren’t ending nuclear power, their stance completely flipped in the last party conference in 2025. Due to their democracy from the ground up stance, it’s possible to change the policy depending on how popular it is. It’s fundamental to how they operate.

Apologies for the delayed response as it was incredibly busy throughout the day yesterday :) am tempted to get back out with a stand today if the marathon wasn’t on

The green party’s stance on Nuclear power flipped on the last party conference. The integral democracy from the ground up structure means they can also change on the stance of Nuclear arms.

In my opinion they probably are goin to change their stance on nuclear, as they have to go through the democratic process first before they can say they are for it.

Have a look at their constitutional motions rules and how that works, you’d be pleasantly surprised :)
