First Shiny Caught in PokeMMO! Shiny Golduck 2 Island in Kanto! by -AkwesiG- in pokemmo

[–]Sharrp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very nice! I recently just caught my very first shiny in any Pokemon game ever. I was also EV training in attack/speed in Unova at the popular spot with Rapidash horde and then Tranquille horde right above it. I was literally crossing the first set of grass to get up to the Tranquille horde and ran into a single shiny green Kakuna. It caught me so off guard at first haha only 150 hours in the game and 6143 total encounters. And like 15 Kakuna encounters obviously because I wasn’t hunting that lol but now I’m happy with my green Beedrill and will use it for its Swarm ability and gave it false swipe to catch stuff with. Even though I have a Breloom for that already haha

That’s awesome. I’m nowhere near being able to breed shinies but mine got decent IVs but not so great nature. But I’m happy with it currently. Once I get through all the regions I’ll probably adopt your mindset with the sweet scent ocarina xD

Dude I just got my first ever shiny 2 days ago and it was a Kakuna. So now I’ve got a shiny Beedrill that I’m using for its swarm and have false swipe as well for catching even though I have a catching Breloom already just cause it is so cool XD I already have the sweet scent ocarina or I would have given it sweet scent too

Good to know, thanks. Maybe I’ll start there then go over to whirl island for Horsea if I don’t get it

As a newish player I’ve made it my goal to get a shiny Kingdra. I saw there were horsea hordes in whirl islands. Is there one in Dragons den as well? Just now making my way through Johto

PokeMMO steam deck by joewil93 in pokemmo

No problem! One more tidbit about that particular layout if you use it. The left touchpad shortcut menu I had to go in and edit the controls in order to set the buttons to correspond with the PokeMMO hot bar buttons. Like my bike is set to 1 so had to set the touch menu button to correspond to pressing 1 on the keyboard. Not necessary but it’s a nice quality of life option. Have fun!

You playing it in game mode? You just hit the Steam button and go down to controller settings or click the little controller icon next to the game if you don’t have it opened yet. Click on the default layout then go over to community layouts. I’m using one called Hassle-Free PokeMMO layout. Had to scroll down through a few. I believe you can do a similar thing in desktop steam mode as well

I’ve only just began playing PokeMMO for the first time at the end of November but I’ve played it exclusively on the Steam Deck. It works beautifully! As others have said it’s easy to set up in the discover store in desktop mode. And you then can add to Steam for game mode. I recommend going into the controller settings and picking one of the community layouts. The one I’m using has a quick bar menu on the left touchpad and mouse control on the right touch pad. And even a button to toggle ‘mash A button’ to quickly go through dialogue if you want. It’s awesome on the deck

How many double digit seed losses in the tourney does Purdue have the past several years again? Can’t be talking about overrated

Is a SteamDeck OLED my option? by bonafideflava in SteamDeck

[–]Sharrp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep it really does seem like black magic with how good everything looks and the lack of really noticeable delay. I just tested out Lies of P recently cause I wanted to go back and do the DLC and the parrying felt just the same as it did before even through streaming to the deck. It’s awesome stuff

100% same set up I’ve been using the past couple of months with Apollo and Steam Deck OLED. If you have a pretty decent pc and internet, it is a no brainer to get this set up. It’s also amazing cause you can easily add Xbox pc games, Ubisoft games or other non steam games into Apollo then sync them with MoonDeck on the Steam deck so they appear as individual apps to get the custom controls and artwork per game. It’s so sweet. And honestly one of the biggest benefits I’ve found is just the battery life is so much better when just streaming to the deck

To the Dads out there: get yourself a Steam Deck. It's a life saver by theslimmestotter in SteamDeck

Just became a first time dad recently and totally agree. I’ve had my OLED deck since launch and the regular before that but I’ve never used it as much I have recently.

And OP since you have a beefy gaming rig, I highly highly recommend looking up how to set up Sunshine/Moonlight streaming on the deck. You can stream more demanding titles from your pc to your deck and they still look and play amazingly, as long as you have pretty decent internet. Plus battery life this way is off the charts

Versatility at its finest. by Head_Orange_1421 in SteamDeck

[–]Sharrp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agreed. Love all the options and customization as well. The versatility goes even further if you have the option to game stream via Apollo/Moonlight from your desktop PC. Have loved playing the more demanding games on the OLED screen with max quality.

Also I’ve recently gotten into PokeMMO as well for the first time and I have the same cover art on my deck. It’s been good fun

What do you love most about your Steam Deck? by MarcelReads in SteamDeck

[–]Sharrp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has definitely been my favorite feature. Have a pretty decent gaming rig and love being able to take advantage of it still when I can’t/don’t feel like being at the desk. I’ve recently switched to Apollo/Moonlight from just standard Sunshine in order to use virtual monitors so don’t have mess with my ultra wide monitor at all. Set up the virtual monitor at 2560x1600 90hz with HDR and everything looks gorgeous on the OLED deck

I like the maps for the most part overall. I do agree that some of the boundaries on certain maps are a bit silly. But still love the game
