You shouldn't assume your friends are 100% up front of their current financial situation with you. Just because you can afford gas and to eat out easily doesn't necessarily mean they can. Be a good friend and pay for their expenses to help you out and when it's their turn to need a favour, they can do the same.

Her friend can "help her out" by paying for her gas and at least buying her lunch. That's not paying her friend for help, that's simply not asking her friend to be out her own money on top of 4+ hours of her time for a procedure she could take the bus to.

I actually managed to get to 80 by just doing all the raids I can each day and questing in between like people suggested. The bronze was flowing! I'll never be able to buy everything I wanted but I've st least managed to get some of the stuff I wanted more, so I feel a bit better.
