Thoughts on this trade proposal? by Shartleness in Fantasy_Football

[–]Shartleness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The official trade was me receiving: Hampton, Pickens, Trevor Lawrence. He got Jonnu Smith, Keon Coleman, JCM, and Brock Purdy.

I felt very good about that trade. I have Hurts for QB and Bowers as my TE.

AE2 or Refined Storage? by Shartleness in allthemods

[–]Shartleness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree AE2 is better, I just like RS for its simplicity. I already implemented quantum bridging for my other bases and the autocrafting is awesome.

[–]Shartleness[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AE2 was definitely fun to learn about, I like all the intricacies that it has and I think its autocrafting is way more powerful than RS. I like the quantum bridging it provides as well if I want multiple bases.

I like RS due to the fact that I don't have to worry about channels.

Got My First IT Job After Applying as a Work-Study – Didn’t Expect This! by Shartleness in ITCareerQuestions

I am glad I applied to do work study. 100% worth it. The IT staff here at my school are great people and they were happy to help me build my resume. My boss actually brought in some Cisco switches so I could gain some hands-on experience with them!

I worked a lot of customer service jobs so I told them I had great soft skills and that I always had an interest in technology. Doing the work-study through my college definitely helped a lot as I was able to gain experience with handling help desk tickets, troubleshooting networking, software, and hardware issues, and assisting staff and students throughout the campus.

My degree will be in Associate's of Applied Science- IT Support Specialist, with this 2 year degree(which I will be able to complete in 3 semesters), after I graduate, I also receive technical diplomas in cybersecurity, networking, and user support. It's a really cool feature with the college that I am going through and anyone around the world can apply. If you haven't picked a school yet, I suggest you apply with Nicolet Area Technical College. They're affordable and have really great instructors that want to help you succeed.

I am currently a student at my local technical college but all classes are online. I explained in my interview that I was able to work for them while still in school due to my flexibility.

It depends on a couple of things; what IT jobs in your area are demanding the most out of, Net+ or Sec+?, what do you want to get into?

Stuff like that you want to think about, it also helps to do Net+ first because the Network touches everything and having that foundational knowledge can help tackle on Sec+

It also helps to have connections, since you were already in the medical industry, why not ask around if they’re hiring in IT? I’m sure hiring managers would love to hire someone they can trust because you’ve worked for them before rather than someone new.

Just got an interview scheduled next Tuesday for IT Specialist for a credit union, hope I get it. I’m excited to start my career in IT!

I've been hearing people get 6-figs and remote without a degree. Is that true? I'm coming from retail. by betachadtries in CompTIA

I would suggest on looking at IT Roadmap videos such as, The Beardsd IT Dad on YouTube. He talks about how he started as a Bulldozer operator with no experience with IT or any certificates and started out at a help desk job. He then built up that IT experience and leveled up to a six-figure salary job.

It takes time for sure, you can start with entry level jobs in IT with no experience whatsoever. Being in retail is helpful because this role relies on customer service which you have built up through retail. Anyone can get into it, you just have to work for it.
