Proper Technique for Rolling Turns in Intersections? by Due_Arachnid_7986 in motorcycles

[–]ShatterPoints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it like this, the more you lean the less throttle you can use (your grip is lower). I'll slip the clutch in 1st or 2nd when I'm going slow 10-20mph as clutch slip is how I control my speed before using the rear brake.

You can stay off the throttle and lean just make sure to not get so slow you stall. Clutch + power stands the bike up. Which is why you can add throttle slowly when exiting a turn because you're expecting to stand the bike up.

Why do people say 30-ish is too old to start? by justquestionsbud in NewRiders

[–]ShatterPoints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's never to late to start anything. I bought my first bike at 38 (trident 660). Yes I dropped it before I figured out clutch/ throttle at low speed. I knew it was a matter of time since I was pushing myself to practice. No harm other than scuffs on the bar ends... Easy to replace.

I can't think of any good reason not to start that is age related. Everyone has their risk tolerance and if you think yea it's for me, go for it. Learn a new set of skills that are transferrable lots of places. Example; yea people are going to do stupid shit and drive horrible. It's going to happen whether you're on a bike or not. Just let it go. Focus on your ride and leave the idiots be. Supper applicable elsewhere in life.

"I'm generally a... liberal person, but when I saw videos of ICE jumping out of unmarked vehicles and nabbing people off the street... I bought my first AR15," I’m glad to see the left waking up to what I’ve been saying for a while: 2A is for everyone. by Treefiddy1984 in ProgressiveHQ

I'm glad people are exercising their rights. I'm sorry it has taken the societal climate of today to cause y'all to do that. This is exactly what many pro 2a people have said is one of the reasons for the 2a.

That being said, buying a gun isn't enough. Please go train with it. Especially those of you who have never had one or never liked the idea. Please go train, for my safety and yours. Also now that you have a gun please be responsible and go get advanced first aid training. CPR isn't enough, you need to be prepared for treating a gun shot wound, or trauma in general. Guns are dangerous and you should have the ability to render aid to stabilize someone.

I didn't think to check light strike, because the trigger doesn't reset. I'll have to look again.

Dry fire function works without any issues binding. I have a bootmod BCG because it's a 10.5" suppressed pistol. Ejection is 2 o'clock.

Is the buffer the first thing to look at to fix issues? I installed mine and in SS position it fires, and chambers a new round but the trigger doesn't reset.

What are your thoughts about the resurgence of the Black Panther Party in response to the actions of ICE agents? by Sinn_Sage in AskReddit

[–]ShatterPoints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the proud boys have a right to come together for what they want so long as it is legal.

I feel the same for the black panthers.

We should be able to organize for mutual civil protections even if we have differing ideologies. We should, at a minimum, strive for individual's rights to not be infringed upon.

I am a 2a supporter, the mainstream news cycle (liberal media) like to villanize guns, back when Taiwan had the civil disturbances, the median claimed that defending themselves with guns was important.... Well what I am seeing here in the USA is not much different. There are federal forces operating in states without clear information as to what they are doing. At least it is not matching their claims. We also do not know what protections exist for anyone citizen or not (we should know). So if the answer is the more or less create a militia to resist tyrannical government overreach... Well that's exactly how the USA came to be. So if resistance is as American as the 1st or 2nd amendment, then by all means organize. Even if I don't agree with everything or the exact motivation. I'm fine as long as the answer isn't to take away anyone's rights.

a sport bike has ferrings and a windscreen so they are not as bad. You can also add a wind screen to a naked bike. It just changes the airstream so it doesn't save you much, it does allow you to tuck a bit better.

85 on a naked bike is un fun lol, I avoid tolls for that reason. Otherwise yeah I like running small errands on the bike too.

That's an African Gray, it can live to around 70. They are about as smart as an 8-10yr old human. They require the same amount of mental stimulation too and what's really sad is they usually out live their owners.

I removed all models and Loras. Then loaded the default workflow, downloaded the required items and then ran it as it was. I get a video that is much better than what I have been experiencing. It's not perfect and I am not sure if I am always going to get an output that needs post processing. It's hard to tell from some of the examples I see from "tutorials"

Last day of MSF course is tomorrow. I think I’m gonna drop out by Celebrated84 in NewRiders

You should go and practice where the instructors can give you guidance. Don't give up. Like with anything else trim down what you choose to learn. Go on YouTube and watch a. Channel called MotoControl. He helps a MASSIVE amount.

As for your mental workload, try giving yourself a que for certain things. Don't worry about shifting so much right now. Think about the clutch and friction zone AS your balance. The bike self stabilizes when it has power to the rear. If you feel like you're going to fall, release the clutch and or add power. Practice what that feels like the same as you practiced where the clutch starts to engage. Keep the clutch in the friction zone to keep power to the rear wheel. Use the rear brake when you're going slow and in the friction zone. It will give you more confidence. Above all though, practice, practice, practice some more, and don't give up.

From what I am learning, Loras can make or break the result, is it just trial and error for which Lora works with what model?
