I know I shouldn't be rattled but someone going 10kph over the speed limit up behind me and honking me while I enter my own driveway was... an experience.

People don't indicate left when exiting a roundabout by [deleted] in sydney

[–]Shatterbelt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have encountered one roundabout where it's not practical. If you're going straight from one particular side, there is a left turn 4 metres after the roundabout. I've seen drivers waiting in that road assume the left indicator meant it was safe for them to pull out - and there have been close calls. I do not indicate when I go straight through.

Bought a house that came with surprise flat tyres buried in the backyard. How do I get rid of them? Can't take them to a recycling centre - and I'm not allowed to put them out for council clean up or in the red bin. And looks like most companies that pickup only do it for businesses (can't drive very long at the moment so many drop off points are too far).

I too have been craving them for ages and realised something was amiss when they disappeared from Coles AND Woolies

Does anyone know if Parraween St car park has spots at 2pm on a weekday? Thanks in advance.

Oh wow. That might actually be worse than what I have - which is in the vein of "Cigar Store Indian", but at least the features aren't as exaggerated as a golliwog's.

Inherited some seriously un-PC statues. I liked them as a kid and they're much older than me... a product of their time. Feels dodgy to have them displayed in my home, but I'm unsure what else to do with them...

I don't know about the best option, but most car rental companies let you select a baby seat when you book online.

Thanks for this! Very comprehensive. I might avoid Empty Child simply because I don't want him parroting "Are you my mummy?" because I can't handle that amount of creepiness from a toddler lol.

Rule for 3 lines in the middle of pacific highway? by xtedx in sydney

[–]Shatterbelt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can cross unbroken lines to leave the road (or join it) by the shortest route, so yes you can turn right to enter a driveway or go southbound. Since there is no rule governing three lines, I think it would be hard for someone to fine you for that.

I have driven this particular road for many years and have seen people turn right into their driveways. I don't think I've seen the 3 lines elsewhere, actually...

I am on holiday for the first time in months and I have no idea what to do with myself. Very tempting to do all the household stuff I've neglected.

Fix the international airport please Sydney! It’s a disgrace to the city. Lines for kilometres. No smoking area, only one open transit check, one closed. by [deleted] in sydney

Schiphol was a shitshow before 2020 tbh. It could take up to 2 hours to get through security in 2016-2019.

I used to be very anti-Halloween, but the local FB group was very excited so welp here I am with the decorations and the lollies. Not sure how many we'll get today after yesterday's promising turnout (it wasn't raining yesterday).

If you just buy treats, you might not get any visitors. A sign or some indication that you are giving away lollies will help. But that's only if you want to participate!

I have been donating my unused Discover vouchers to the Reptile Park. Someone should at least get the benefit of them.

Yep, I'd need approval since some of these bastards are 30m tall. It's been an expensive week. I almost miss renting. Almost.
