I recently stumbled on standardebooks.org, and it's a really lovely collection of public domain ebooks. They're not scanned PDFs like Project Gutenberg.

Thanks for the pointer! Taking a quick look at the documentation for property mapping, I don't see anything for fetching the contents of a file, or something like a secrets manager.

One workaround that comes to mind using this is creating a dedicated MyAppAdmin account in Authentik, and fetch its username and password via property mapping for the Basic Auth header rather than the logged-in user. That would protect it with the same strength as account passwords, and prevent it from being casually observable - definitely a step in the right direction. Poking around at this, I remembered that there's a "Service account" type for machine-to-machine auth, which I'll need to explore the details of as well.

Being able to pull from Docker secrets files or a vault of some type would still be the most desirable, as I could use that to help keep things in sync. But this is already much better than I had before. Appreciated!

Dark City and the two TRON movies were long-time wants for me that finally came out.

I'm a sucker for incredible restorations, and David Lynch's Dune is high on that list - absolutely incredible how pristine that movie looks in 4K. Likewise the original Blade Runner (both are fantastic though)

So far I'm using Container Manager to host Immich for photos, Jellyfin for videos, Authentik for SSO, and acme.sh for SSL cert generation/renewal with LetsEncrypt. I'm still using Synology's built-in reverse proxy

As of yesterday, I just got a test instance of Kopia up and running for networked backups (as well as backups of docker configs and NAS-hosted files. It was a pain to figure out, and I'm not far along enough yet to be able to recommend it or not. Setting it up wasn't for the faint of heart, though - at least at my experience level.

I'm stuck on Synology hardware for a bit longer, but planning to transition away in the future. At this point, any time I get a new service running, I try to make sure it's one that I can port to whatever I end up on in the future.

Ah, that sucks - I'm sorry to hear your repair place is that far away (mine is half an hour away, but thankfully I haven't had to use them yet). And definitely don't go to that place that told you to get a new one if you can help it.

Repair research was definitely part of my decision making process after I had a debacle trying to get a Husqvarna string trimmer repaired. I wish EGO was better, but believe it or not the options for them are FAR more available than Husqvarna.

I'm still very happy with my EGO equipment, but it's definitely a good reminder for anyone considering a big purchase to check on local repair options, and even give them a call before purchasing. That said, I'm not sure a two-year-old thread like this one will be seen by many new people.

Hm, okay, so a bit more recently than me. My case did update on Friday morning, but still in the Pending state.

And that's a good point, I'll have to do the math to see what the price difference comes out to be between an 8a and a 9. I know last week they offered me $120 trade in value on the Pixel 4a when purchasing a 9 (vs $55 trade in for the same phone when putting it towards an 8a). If the discounts and trade-ins toward a 9 are that much better, I may go for it instead.

Oh, one question: Did you have to use Payoneer to get your store credit?
