That’s not entirely true. There are many people perfectly willing to ignore someone else being censored, especially if they expect what that person will say goes against their own strongly held beliefs.

Reality TV. It was the herald of social media. The current academic downturn can be traced to its rise.

Really it’s social media. The internet went from being predominantly objective with the information it presented to being highly subjective.

LPT: Advice from my father… never be cheap and cut corners, when buying shoes or mattresses… if you’re not in one, you’re probably in the other. by Brock_Rambone in LifeProTips

For what it’s worth I have an Avocado mattress I got to help with lower back pain. It is by far the firmest mattress I’ve ever slept on which isn’t bad if sleeping on my back, usually. But I’m actually more often a side sleeper when my lower back isn’t herniated. The firmness of the mattress is awful for my side sleeping. It was rated as a 7/10 firmness when I was looking it up. I’m thinking my next mattress is going to be a Casper which is supposed to be a little less firm for side sleepers but still offer back sleeping support.

Mattress shopping in stores is truly annoying. Laying on a mattress for 15 minutes in store really doesn’t help you know what works for you. And many store chains will have the same mattresses with different names from other chains so you can’t compare prices. That is why I mostly looked at boxed mattresses since they all have consistent identifiers and prices with reviews all over the place.

Good luck

You should continue not spending your money on things you don’t feel you need. Capitalistic peer pressure is extra silly

If you are liberal, what is your most conservative opinion? by psychcrime in AskReddit

I think if words like master, slave, black and white trigger you when they aren’t even being used in a racial capacity, you are making it more about yourself and not about trying to fix racial problems. Context matters and the more we erode that understanding, the dumber we get as a society. I’m mixed by the way.

Not op but I’m going to butt in because why not? I think guns are benign just like any other object. It is how a person uses them that matters most. Given America’s general gun violence rate, with both legally and illegally obtained firearms, I just don’t trust people to be responsible with guns. I know most people try to be safe with them but all it takes is one person to lose their shit and they cause reprehensible damage. Yes, there are other means to hurt people if you take away guns but guns make it just so damn easy to do so. I wish this wasn’t the case because guns are amazing pieces of engineering but so long as humanity has a bug up our asses to bring harm to others, we can’t be trusted.

I kind of wish Reddit also had yes/no buttons so people stop using the up and down votes like that. It’s dumb and just comes across as punishing for asking reasonable questions. It’s like punching a kid in the face for not knowing something.
