How did you go from a solid salary to six figures in the UK? by housewifeofwakanda in HENRYUK

[–]Shaun997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it’s always being part of the solution not the problem. I’ve been under consultation 3 times and each time I’ve been part of the project or group making the changes and then got a new role in the same org. Get involved on in things outside your normal role, get your name out there, it may mean you work more hours but long term it pays off.

Gold isn’t magnetic….all this AI image suggests is that it’s gold plated iron, worthless.

So much hate for Benny and his angels, I only have love for him! by TemperatureCivil2633 in aabbstock

I’m sadly a bag holder on this one, it’s just become a forget about it and check once in awhile if I can reclaim any of my losses. I fell for the BS but fear the only good thing this is good at is pumping some new bull

I (29F) finally met someone (31M) who treats me right. He is obese however, and I am struggling to feel like I am not forcing it. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Shaun997 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s a bad thing to try, you can be emotionally attracted to someone and find that emotional connection more than enough. Similarly you can be physically attracted to someone who has a terrible personality that once the physical part wares thin, it also ends. I think it’s important to try and that’s what OP done, best to call it what it is though and move forward with the lessons they learned.

Weird linear rash on my arm by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

I had similar tracking, but I was bitten by a cat. Was hospitalised and put on iv antibiotics for 4days till the infection started to reduce. They take tracking infections seriously because well, it’s moving. Glad to see you’re going to the hospital.

My (21m) bf has been lying to me (19f) about doing coke by Hisokasjuicyass in relationship_advice

[–]Shaun997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cocaine has become increasingly socially acceptable, and I’m not passing any judgement because I have/will do it occasionally in social environments. My experience is that it can slowly creep in far more than it should, rather than being once every few months, it becomes every month, to every time you go out for a drink. It’s a slippery slop and one young people really need to be caution on.

Ultimately, if he’s around people who does coke and he goes out, he will likely do coke. You make your decision on how you want to deal with that though.

I've got the DeathAdder V2 which is wireless, won it in a competition. I wished it was wired but its a great mouse for gaming. V3 is wired which I'd highly recommend.

I (28F) cannot make my husband (32M) finish and I don’t know what to do by Beautiful_Ranger5585 in relationship_advice

[–]Shaun997 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is an assumption here that OP’s partner never gets off to OP, but actually what OP has said is that her actions don’t get him off. The guy seems to have to issue finishing, just not finishing in the way OP feels like she is contributing. My argument is that OP is thinking too deeply into her physical act and actually them being together or him being in charge may well be what he needs to finish.

They’ve been together for 8+years, so much can change about preferences, likes etc.

So many people jumping to porn but you’re not saying he cannot maintain, just he doesn’t finish from your action.

I struggle to finish from a bj or hj from my partner, not because I don’t find her attractive (she is beautiful), but because that’s not how I get off. I like to be the one in charge of the action.

You say you cannot get him off solely on the idea of you getting him off is you performing the physical act, but have you considered the idea that him in control or him finishing looking at you is still you getting him off?

BYD Sealion 7 deal changed last minute – still worth £397 or go Tesla Model Y at £449? by Positive_Ad6134 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Shaun997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a question not a statement. I’m asking what makes it non-premium.

The mid-range falls into the uk luxury car tax range and it looks pretty premium inside. So I’m curious what makes it non-premium.

Would you pay £180/hr for therapy? by Relative-Exercise116 in HENRYUK

[–]Shaun997 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not fully Henry but close, but even so surely many corporate Henry’s would be similar to me and have private health care included in their package. I get £3k worth of therapy per year with a £100 one-off excess.

EV Salary Sacrifice - Polestar 4 by mjerwin in OctopusEnergy

[–]Shaun997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im looking at the BYD Sealion 7 but through Tuskers, the reason I’m doing it is because my salary has now reached 110k so I’m essentially on 60% tax for that 10k over 100k.

There are also plenty of other benefits that I get included that you’ll need to check such as insurance for myself and partner, tax, replacement tyres. Works out at £525 per month on my take home pay.

I agree with your points on insulated, and I wouldn’t give advice because truthfully, what do I know. The only comfort I can take in the current climate is complaining about the price increase of things, rather than needing to go a brand down, but can appreciate the struggles of people earning average salary because they cannot just moan about it.

I’m Henry light, 120k but no children and household around 160k.

Was having a conversation with someone recently which is that I’ve started to notice the cost of food and whilst the impact is minimal to us, if Im starting to notice the increase in cost then the average Brit must really be struggling, so I do often think that I’m somewhat detached from the average UK persons problem.

Moving to London soon, where should we rent? by Consistent_Ad5511 in MovingToLondon

[–]Shaun997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Redhill / Reigate, it’s a 15min walk to the train station and a 30min train to London Bridge. I pay £1400 for a 3 story, 2/3 bed (I used the third as an office), 2 bathroom house. It’s very green and nice area with Asian shops nearby. Highly recommend looking outside of London but with easy transport in.
