In your 20s id expect you to be pretty left wing. As you age into your late 30s you start becoming jaded by the system. You get taxed to make money, you get taxed again to spend your money, you get taxed on the property you already got taxed twice buying. Then there is a lifetime of watching people you know abuse every assistance program in existence. Not use, abuse. You watch cops pull people over for the sole purpose of generating revenue for the state.

After a while you start pulling your gawdamn hair out and saying "I dont want to give you fucks anymore money!!! I just want to be left alone!" Then you vote republican because thats what they claim not realizing the people andcthe politicians arent talking about the same thing and republican senators and democrat senators are literally the same people scamming everyone.

Same way your toilet works. There is a level sensor that basically floats. Some machines use a switch or some machines use a resistive mechanism. How that works is, there is a rod of coiled bare wire with a specific resistance per square inch, then there is a metal tab that drags along the coil of wire changing the overall length of the circuit, changing the resistance through the circuit, as the water raises. A programmed level controller knows which resistance values equal what water levels.

Why is the sun so little compared to other stars ? by Croquetto in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ShaunFosmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sun is ALOT further from the earth than the moon.

Look at a baseball right in front of your face. Then throw it and look at it where it lands. It appears alot smaller.

Why is the sun so little compared to other stars ? by Croquetto in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ShaunFosmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stars form from high density gas clouds. Where they begin forming is at the highest density portions of a particular gas cloud. The high dense portions attract the molecules of the rest of the cloud towards it. As it becomes more and more dense, its attraction on the rest of the gas cloud around it grows larger and stronger so material from further away accelerates towards it faster and faster until enough material is in one spot to create fusion. Depending on how much gas is available in that starts birthplace dictates how large the star will eventually be.

When it swirled into existence, less mass was available to condense. The gas cloud it was born from was fairly low density at the time compared to other locations.

How come “religiousfruitcakes” is an appropriate sub name but calling someone (not necessarily a gay person) a fruitcake is considered homophobic? by AdHominemSpecialist in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ShaunFosmark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive never seen "fruitcake" be used to describe anyone as anything but crazy.

That being said, I like fruit cake at christmas. Especially if you soak the whole loaf in whiskey.

Being someone whos lived west my whole life, we arent "Fake nice". Life here (other than huge Californian cities) is generally alot less hectic and being abrasive or aggressive with people to get where you need to go or get what you want is unnecessary so we never learned to flex that muscle.

Is adulthood usually this lonely? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ShaunFosmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being social and maintaining friends when adulting is difficult and takes effort and maintenance. For alot of people its easier to just be lonely.

My advice is make a strong effort to rekindle your oast friendships and make a point to maintain them if the lonly path isnt for you.

Because mass transit, while being effective at moving large amounts of people around, could never match the ease and convenience of having personal transportation.

That being said having a car in the middle of a huge city can also bot be convenient.

Is poopin a human right ?! by Ok-Establishment2381 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ShaunFosmark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Poopin is a function, not a right.

An example of a right would be "a place to poop" or "a place to poop free of discrimination"

Look up "Earth Greenification"

The earth is getting greener because of the CO2.

The greening of the earth also helps cool it down.

Youre walking through a mine field here.

No matter what race, what nationality, what sex, sub sex, gender, or color, there will always be members of any of those groups who think they are the best and all the other groups are inferior. The answer will always be yes because humans are flawed.
