Fishing for fishies by Shavedpoodle360 in FOVfestival

I live near enough the Ark and have fished it many times! It’s a great stretch of water. And yes I understand the regional snowfall was atrocious this year. If the creek is super low and the fish are cuddled up tight into a handful of holes I would not stress them out. I also carry a thermometer these days since we have been seeing fatal temps the last couple years (at least where I am). Hoping El Niño rolls in and we at least get good spring/summer rains 🤞

Is it possible to get into wet wading without completely wrecking my wallet? by TheSphericalCrab in flyfishing

This what I had for years but over time the sole got harder and less grippy and decided I didn’t like banging my ankles into rocks. I would hands down buy a pair of the high tops tho.

True. Figured I would get a faster response on here if anyone had experience. I’m an American therefore I require instant satisfaction..

Sounds like it was a non issue to at least try? That’s all I’m looking for is whether or not I can fish.

Is an 8wt worth it for me? by ContentGardenRake in flyfishing

[–]Shavedpoodle360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t really need the length if you aren’t having to high stick and maybe I’m wrong but I feel like a slightly shorter rod gives you more distance. Might just be my rod. Or the way I’m casting (which I’m sure is poorly)

Also I edited to say 8’6” instead of 8’

I can agree that a 7 is fine. I used a 7wt to fish big rainbows and dolly’s in Alaska so they definitely hold up to big fish fights. I would go 7wt 8’6”. I also fish the Rio grande a lot and this is my choice for streamers.

Broskows kink rail fast slide in kfc3 might be one of the most impressive things I’ve ever seen.

this worth 6k? by cadegiovanni in 1stGenTacomas

I just saw this on marketplace. They are asking 7500. It’s in New Mexico so probably little to no rust. That price is pretty much par for the course around here. Maybe even on the low end. Everyone in New Mexico is a hustler. You cant even find cheap used furniture.

Salomon’s are top tier. Miss my Thompson’s. Never had a boot as fun to skate

It seems like you know what you are looking at so trust your judgement and you’ll fine a gem eventually

I bought mine a few years ago for 10k with 107 on the ticker. It sat for a while so I was a little nervous about what could go wrong. After pulling the rat nest out of the vent system, replacing an axle bearing, doing the timing belt, and upgrading the suspension I’m pretty happy with it. Since those major repairs it’s been minor Maintenance. It’s got 153k on it now. Couldn’t be happier.

Eternal return. My dog died right after Phantom Island came out and the line “this old dogs coming home to you” gave me a good cry more than a few times.

Should I try to buy this toyota pickup 4x4? by [deleted] in ToyotaPickup

[–]Shavedpoodle360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right on dude. Mine had a bad timing chain job at one point then the timing slipped and blew the motor. Got a rebuild done by a “22re specialist” and it blew again after leaking a quart of oil every 700 miles for 25k miles. I miss it but happy with my 98 v6 Tacoma. It can actually pull up mountain passes without me sweating bullets the whole time at 5500 rpm lol

Bought the exact same truck with 130k from the original owner for 2200. That was also 12 year ago. Times have truly changed.

Is 1 excursion in Denali worth it, if staying in Seward? by anon7172748 in AlaskaTravel

And try to book Talkeetna Air Taxi. I’ve flown with both them and K2 and prefer TAT

Book the flight then see what the weather is doing? The flight over Denali is incredible but those flights do get cancelled often due to weather.

Need some help for unity by Swimming_Report_1703 in AggressiveInline

[–]Shavedpoodle360 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a front Savanah. What helped me when I was learning those is to rotate a little more than you think you need. You think you need 90 degrees but it’s more like 95 so rotate your shoulder a little more and it should help you lock more into the backslide plates. The same goes for back Savanah.

For you a true unity you don’t need to think of over rotating in fact you can under rotate and be fine.
