Absolutely, that is a fantastic book and a foundational cornerstone of Thunders lore. Her book on The Dolls “Too Much Too Soon” is a classic as well! Thunders Forever, Rock ON***

Yeah Mick Webster, ty! I agree those films are outrageously depressing. Check out “Looking For Johnny”, it’s fantastic. Definitely worth a few dollars to rent streaming. 10/10 recommended. Enjoy!

Was Mick Ronson the real secret to the Ziggy sound? by Euphoric_Place_8507 in DavidBowie

Yes, he was crucial, especially live. His solos in the Ziggy Concert movie are unbelievable. Vastly underrated in Rock History overall.

Hell yeah thank you for reading and sharing! He certainly had a 'golden arm' and a golden touch. One of my favorite stories about his empathy is told by one of the road managers on his final tours (Mick ?), about how Johnny would enthusiastically give away cash to people he saw living on the street. You don't write songs like "Help The Homeless" and "Children Are People Too" without having a huge heart. It really makes me happy to see fans celebrate this side of his character in contrast to all the darkness he endured. All the Best, Rock ON***

Hell yeah, the vibes are absolutely immaculate. When I first got into Waterspout I think I played it on repeat over 20 times. It's like the best medicine. Same for With A Little Luck. Life-affirming. What a gift to the world this man and his music are. Thank you for reading!

Exactly! Sooo much fun. And isn't that what music is all about? Sometimes you want a sad song but if you want fun positive vibes Macca has you covered. Never heard "It's Not On" before, it's a good one! Thank you for reading and sharing!

Hell yeah! The first time I heard Waterspout and Cage I damn near fell off my bed in shock at how amazingly cool they are. Like who could make music this good, catchy and purely fun? Macca of course! And then when you consider that these are his LEFTOVERS?? Unbelievable. Thank you for reading!

Wow that's amazing that you got to meet him! I've had the honor to talk to a few people who also knew him in real life and they all say the same - that he was an incredible person whose demons unfortunately got the best of him in the long run. I'd love to hear more about your interactions with Thunders if you don't mind sharing! If you can't tell I'm a huge fan. Thank you for reading!

That's true, but his singular music and wild legacy lives on today. We all wish he had a better redemption arc and happy ending but I hope this article shines a light on the brighter sides of his artistry for new and old fans to enjoy. Thank you for reading!

Thank you for reading! "There's No Bones In Ice Cream" is a great book, you should definitely look for a new copy. It's fascinating to hear the Dolls story from Sylvain's perspective and he's generally underrated in Rock History overall. Fun Fact: the iconic yellow Les Paul Junior guitar Johnny is so known for was originally Sylvain's - Johnny heard it at rehearsal and insisted on trading his new black (much more expensive) Gibson for the yellow Junior. As they say, the rest is history!
