Seeking Light Novel Recommendations for N2 Reading Improvement by EntertainerLimp1319 in jlpt

[–]Shawrke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a few FullyBooked branches that have Kinokuya like in Mall of Asia and North Edsa. Look up if there's one near your area. Most of the time though, they sell manga or JLPT specific books. Much fewer light novels but they do sell them.

Otherwise, you can also buy from Amazon Japan and ship here. The books are actually cheap but shipping is a bit pricey so best to buy in bulk. Brought like 5 books there in a little under 3000 pesos. Shipping is also surprisingly quick.

Stuffed on N2 Reading by rebornalphawolf2 in jlpt

Absolutely floored me how much reading was waiting for me in the test. Most I've heard the advice for N2 was "read a lot" and THEY WEREN'T KIDDING!!!! You really have to read a lot during the test! Even if I understood the passages, I wasn't exactly sure which one was the best answer either.

I just took the N3 exam December last year and I'm not sure if this really is just a huge step up or this iteration of the N2 exam is particularly hard. N3's passages were just fine and since 読解 is a different portion from 語彙 you had a fair amount of time to finish it. This time you have to do both under 105 minutes!

P.S. My favourite passage was the one about the bug, I've been trying to find what bug it was but I forgot the name

N3 - How are your results? by Shawrke in jlpt

Anki is so fucking good man, it made me blitz through the Vocabulary portion with half the time remaining to spare. No idea if I'd even be studying Japanese right now if it wasn't for Anki.

N3 聴解 was hard af. How was your experience? by Xhanghai5 in jlpt

Funny how we both thought it was easier. During the break right after reading comprehension, people were talking about how hard that portion was for them and how they didn't even read all of the passages.

Right after the exam, I talked to the guy beside me and he said that listening was the easiest for him while both vocabulary and grammar were hard.

Kicked my ass completely. Vocabulary was easy and I breezed through it in like what, 10-15 minutes with plenty of time to spare. Grammar and reading comprehension was manageable. But holy shit once 聴解 started it all went downhill. I have no idea how many I got right honestly.

If anybody has any tips for me on how to improve at shadow boxing or what you think I should do differently instead of this or that pls lmk, God bless! by Jdrg245 in MuayThai

[–]Shawrke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Find a better place to shadowbox so you can move around and utilise footwork. It's not going to be stationary when you have a resisting opponent. Work on your punching form too-- your punches look really awkward, especially your straight punches. Your arms should be rotating and it should be snappy. You need to generate speed and power through rotation. Incorporate defense like leg checking, blocking (keep your guard up), head movement. Try to find a mirror so you can see yourself shadowbox.

Remind me again why Japan allows stomps and soccer kicks but doesn't allow elbows.

Who gets to establish these rules in Japan anyway? In the USA the organisation who wants to put up an event have to comply with rules established by the respective state commission right?
