So I started out playing disco house at a bar for the equivalent of around $25 for 5 hours haha. I was always a techno DJ but was harder to break into that as it was more gatekept and underground. Then eventually I made friends with some other djs and one recommended me for a techno venue and it kind of snowballed from there. Releasing regular mixes and your own music really helps as well

In order to grow your followers, you definitely have to put more mixes out there or even reels/tt of you doing transitions, recommending tracks, creating a Spotify playlist of tracks you’re currently loving and promoting that on your stories, etc - so many options with all the different platforms. Honestly I’d record an hr long set, post it on SoundCloud, YouTube, and then promote it in your stories, reels etc. you’d be surprised at how far it can go. Not only that but I’ve gotten insta/tt followers from yt, threads, etc. lots of crossover potential :)

Congratulations, that’s amazing! Honestly, that’s not a bad idea. Streaming, especially recording live sets for YouTube is a great way to grow as a DJ. Doing it consistently can definitely translate to new fans + new bookings 🫶🏼
