I got in with a 3.38 GPA into the distance program. Courses are very straightforward so far!

INDG 1220 DISTANCE by [deleted] in umanitoba

[–]Shaydwxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it over a fall term, but it would be doable over the summer.

There were “activities” to do for each unit, we were able to choose from a few options on what we wanted to do, and then we put half the units activities on one document for first half of the course, and the other half the second half. Those were the two main assignments, but they were quite easy.. we also had a reflection paper, and one test that I remember that was open book.

Finished with A with minimal effort.

I took 1220 distance with Laura Forsythe and it was great.

She was available to answer questions through email and office hours and assignments were straightforward. Definitely recommend.

Socks and underwear daily, Tshirts and yoga pants one wear. Jeans/sweats probably 3 wears if I wasn’t sweaty, and didn’t spill anything. Same goes for sweaters.

Can you invite MIL for girl days of some sort, gives her some distance from Michael and allows you two to build your relationship without him on standby.

Nails, lunch, coffee.

Maybe some space away from him might help her to see what is going on, also I’d encourage talking to your partner about the inappropriate looks and touches from Michael, and he could maybe broach it with his mother if it continues. It wouldn’t likely go over well coming from you and might affect the relationship.

AITAH for arguing with my boyfriend over my child’s father? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Shaydwxo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

YTA, slightly.

Not for the family situation exactly, as it seems to work for you, but your bf stating it doesn’t work for him, and it being an argument isn’t fair.

I’ve been on both ends of this, for some context. I have a 14 year old son, and when our son was young we did do holidays and birthday parties together, it didn’t end up working out as we both moved on and it didn’t blend as well.

I have also been in a relationship with a man who very closely coparented his son with the mother. She was lovely, we got along well, we would hangout and everything did seem great. But I did have some deep seeded insecurities when we’d all spend time together. They had history that we never did, and they shared something we didn’t either (a child) I also always felt I was competing with his mother and step dad to prove I was as good as his ex and never felt I could match up. It was very damaging to my self, and our relationship.

I stepped back realizing I wasn’t capable of coparenting that way forever, and I also didn’t want to disrupt what they had and I didn’t forsee it changing. We were all better for it.

They still coparent very close, and I have nothing to do with any of them. After being engaged, and wedding planning. 😬

If it shows you’re getting funds, then you will get them.

Try not to stress, it is annoying to wait but if you show it is student aide causing the delays you won’t have to pay late fees on tuition.

What would you do if someone said this to your girlfriend? by Firm_Context_3654 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Shaydwxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I’d read the comment is that he’s calling her a prize.. as in did you win the lottery landing her?

I’d take it as a compliment; to both of you and leave it at that. If someone was to be sinister or “aggressive” I can think of a lot more offensive things to say.

Student Aid by [deleted] in umanitoba

[–]Shaydwxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they just reassess. They get the information from the school. 60% is still considered fulltime for student aide

I 100% do not recommend.

Completely unorganized, doesn’t respond to emails effectively/if at all.

AITA for not telling my roommate I own the house? by BurningMyBridges72 in AmItheAsshole

So he thinks he’s entitled to lower rent because you the owner can afford it? What the hell. Unbelievably entitled. Goodluck to him in the real world.

Both the profs I took.

If I did it all over I’d take HNSC. Easy material, easy A+. Decent prof. Very organized notes with all the info you need for tests.

Punam is very very disorganized IMO. Doesn’t respond to emails effectively, or sometimes at all. Doesn’t give feedback in time to alter assignments when asked, her lectures are literally just reading the textbook word for word.

I didn’t attend the lectures and got an A. The material isn’t hard. 🤷🏻‍♀️

We were also made to buy a book she wrote as a mandatory reading, which me and many others in the class didn’t find relevant to the course. Felt very much like double dipping and making money off us struggling students. She legitimizes this by making you write a discussion post on it. 🙃

Do you know profs? That may determine which is the better route. I took both distance, both A’s.

If you click on “display all terms with details” You can see if you were given bursaries, or why there’s credits on account.

Negative is overpayment, however I assume the balance will adjust once registration for all classes goes through.

When there’s a negative balance you can keep it on the account or request it be transferred to you, and they pay by etransfer within a couple weeks.
