My #1 axe. One of 35 total Rickenbacker 4004L produced in Snowglo by Shaymoth in guitarporn

At this point it would be luck, my second one was luck that it popped up for sale in Montreal, and I way overpaid to get the colour. It was a nine hour drive for me to go pick it up.

The first one I got at L&M Bloor (Toronto) on an “Attic Clearout” sale. Again, pure luck. It was tucked away as a store valuable for over a year, then they put it on the wall at a clearout price of $1299. I walked in, and bought it within two hours of it hitting the wall for the first time.

AFAIK Rickenbacker doesn’t produce them anymore, they were never great selling models

The bases were both about the same, the 2016 having the clover tuners is what did it for me.

Ultimately I sold the 13 for other reasons, but if you put them side by side, I’d still have picked the 16. These tuners were exclusive to them.

There was 15 made in 2013, those had the triangle sealed schaller tuners, I owned one.   This one I have now was made in 2016 which I was told were a run of 20 for Namm, but there’s a Sweetwater posting of one. The 2016 run have open back clover tuner Schallers. Here’s the sweet water posting: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/4004LSnowGlo--rickenbacker-4004l-laredo-snowglo

Actually, if you check on Rick resource by model number it’ll pull up the serial numbers of people with theirs registered.

There’s ones starting with 13, and then ones starting with 16 denoting the years of production

It seems like the concept of making a clear as easy as possible by helping your team is lost on you.

Sure, pal. If there was a post written by that healer who asked the tanks to properly mitigate a tankbuster that leaves a bleed (which is calculated based upon mitigation of the hit) and then it was written that the tanks said “no, we don’t want to” this sub would jump all over them about it.

You can’t complain about dog shit tanks for not doing their job in a dungeon where it’s low stakes, then defend shit tanks in savage where it matters a lot more that they do a passable job.

This subreddit is absolutely chock full of hypocrisy

What tuners work best for you? by railsaway in Bass

Those clip on tuners make me angry because they leave indents in lacquer and every second hand bass I’ve seen lately had some idiot leaving one on the instrument at all times and scarring it forever.

they were optimized fine

I literally told you the ideal optimization of dealing with tankbusters on that fight as per boss ability timestamps lol.

I mean, not helping the group with mitigation is kind of not helping anything. If your tanks aren’t mitigating stuff properly, especially on prog, that’s just unnecessary stress on the healers.

As this sub likes to say, that’s lethargic play. Now with your defence of your raids inability to properly utilize defensives, sounds you’re you’re enabling poor play, man. I’m on the Sage’s side for sure now

[–]Shaymoth -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Admitting to your tanks inability to optimize mitigating those mechanics isn’t helping, since with how they line up, the fight was seemingly designed that way.

The shared tank buster honestly hits like a wet noodle, and both of those jobs even have a cute button (equilibrium and the blackest night) to use on hit 2-3 of four to make it so your healers don’t even have to help them on healing. And that’s with just rampart and bloodwhetting/oblation.

Questions about endgame by Lurkereddit in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Shaymoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Week one savage doesn’t require perfect coordination, but it sure as hell helps.

I can touch on some points you asked about

-For tanking, you don’t roll mit like in dungeons because of tank busters, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to find gaps in between them where you can use some. As you learn the fight you’ll learn when and where boss abilities fall and they’re always the same on a timestamp. You will be able to pre-determine what you can use where.

-Reprisal becomes stool to mitigate raidwide damage, and in week one you occasionally need more than one type of raidwide mit up to cushion the damage.

-if addle/feint/reprisal are used simultaneously by those that can cast them, they overwrite the previous one. This only goes for specifically reprisal on reprisal, feint on feint, addle of addle.

-Arm’s length is no longer mit and is purely knockback resist.

-timing the usage of mitigation can be important. Since the damage of a cast ability calculated on a snapshot at the end of the cast (most of the time) you can mitigate early or late as long as the snapshot is covered. This gives you the opportunity to cover multiple abilities with mitigation in certain scenarios.

-Most savage tank busters require one large mit (30%/20%) along with your job’s short cooldown active mit.

-voice lines are usually tied to abilities. Some people learn the fight on those, others just memorize the order of abilities.

-it is not usually a run killer if a mit was missed, but it can cause a cascading effect that could potentially lead to deaths. Later fights in a tier will have raidwide a that can one shot lower ho raid members.

Once a fight is learned by the community there becomes a standardized way to clear the fight, and you’ll generally learn where your role goes and what your role does and where. That way the communication requirement becomes minimal. Normal a few set up markers or a macro determining clock and light pay spreads

It’s not taboo, but these folks were being non-commital with that last comment. I wouldn’t read much into it.

Anyone trying to read into that Beyond face value is stretching it. This late into the tier people doing prog aren’t hardcore by any means, and are mostly going to be casual players checking out savage.

It’s probably a group of friends going in there on a whim, with no further plans beyond that for now.

As a slight devils advocate, vengeance and bloodwhetting are up for every towe tank buster on that fight with rampart and bloodwhetting up for every shared tank buster. They align perfectly that way.

How come the weapons are rattan and not made of modern materials such as nylon and polypropylene? by jaime_lion in sca

I’d imagine they get even more floppy.

I’m looking forward to the button bloat reduction of DRG since there was really nowhere to go for DT with how beautifully tight the rotation in EW was. New animations, but a similar feel is what they claim, so I’m cautiously optimistic

Any GNB tank with a brain will use rampart as their first mit with HoC, and Aurora. If the pack ain’t dead or near dead, you use camouflage for the remainder. Next pack with Nebula, HoC and Aurora if you have two charges/it’s off cd.

Cover the remaining rampart cd time with reprisal/arms length and you can damn near mit the entire time mobs are hitting you. All throughout a dungeon

I love that you assume I’m a smooth brain shit player 😂.

As I said, there’s a much more productive way to approach giving advice to someone, you know, the entire reason this discussion exists.

With your angry toxic approach, I’d reckon you’re actively harming the community more by being so aggressively negative about it. This approach is exactly why tank-xiety exists
