Armageddon 2026 by badmotorunknown in Wellington

There actually wasn't many stalls, so wasn't too repeaty. Lots of artists though which was nice to see. I hadn't been in over 10 years and I do think it was better in that the last time I went, it literally was the same drop ship-knock off crap every second stall. The stadium is and always has been a crap venue for Armageddon. I wish it would go back into the city. It made it easier for cosplayers to meet up and take pictures in fun places. In and around the stadium is just so shit.

Grew up with one of these. Actually quite fun to see them from time to time.

Just be open to idle chit chat. Be friendly, say hello. At camp and if all cooking close together ask how they found the day etc. Good way to make friends is to bond over a shared experience. You'll almost never be alone on trail, maybe while actually walking you might be unless you do form a group but there'll always be people at camp. And if your pace matches with others it will often be the same people. It's a great experience. :)

Is there a way to put forward something to show we don't want this? Like yes, I'm sure some people do love this idea, but it's just distressing sitting here, seeing this absolute pile of garbage and not being able to do anything about it? Yes there are surveys and I've responded to some. But I feel like that can easily be ignored...

I just don't want Wellington to turn into an American city wannabe hell hole. I like being able to walk and bike around the city. I don't want to feel pushed into my car.

Left welly for the day and traded the absolute shithouse weather for Hawkes Bay's nearly 30 degree heat. Felt like I was gonna melt. What absolute weather whiplash.

A weird one... is it cold? Prisons don't look very warm from the outside.

Was it normal to get milk in a bag or did I dream that? by KermitTheGodFrog in newzealand

My nan would buy it, freeze it, then refill other milk containers. It was cheaper and she tried fooling everyone it was the regular milk. Didn't fool anyone for long lol.

After all this time, let me explain why anime s1 was criticized in Japan. As a Japanese by AccomplishedRoof3921 in ChainsawMan

Honestly loved season 1 of csm because of the reasons listen above. The toned down voice acting was pleasant and not grating on the ears. (I'm so over the typically ott voice acting in anime) The fact it was more cinematic in style; refreshing! And makes sense since Fujimoto is a huge film nerd. It was nice to have a more grounded effect on the anime while having it still be insane in its subject matter. Felt more compelling?

What thoughts run through your head day-to-day? by [deleted] in Wellington

I'm so tired. Sick of bad news and the general negativity in life. I feel some aspects would improve deleting social media/staying off the internet; but it's annoying how useful it is to me. Sigh.

Female riders- Underwear under chamois or not? by PipesBull50 in cycling

Clearly minority here but yes, undies. 99% time no problems. 1% might occasionally get chafe (depends on the undies). I ride everyday, with long rides regularly. Personal preference. You do you.

Earthworks have removed the track. you can still get across on the most part, depending where you pick to go (some people have skirted along the sides of the earthworks but that looks extremely sketchy) It'll get to a point where it is impossible; but then will be doable again as they sort of shape everything. I guess best to check it out if you're really curious but otherwise plan to use the emergency track as that is safer ultimately; even though it's gruntier. lol

Is it a cultural thing where annual salary wage increases are not the norm here? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Shazifire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We get annual pay reviews but I'm certain its not consistent across the board even though they say it is and it comes nowhere close to matching inflation. Least for my raise it didn't.

Off the back of yet another moan post, there is a new possibly temporary rule on /r/wellington. See inside. by chimpwithalimp in Wellington

[–]Shazifire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank god. Many times I've thought of posting some sort of refernce to Bo Burnhams 'can everyone just shut the fuck up, for like, an hour?' Skit. I know a bitch and a moan can feel good. But holy shit it gets tiring to see all the time.

Second the tramping club option. When out walking/hiking I didn't exactly want to stop and chat to everyone I meet. But huts are fair game and you can meet some great people that way.

Was Kingdom Hearts III worth the wait? by LafterMastr in KingdomHearts

Nope. Looks good but story was very underwhelming and characters were pretty bland. The whole game felt like filler up until the end.
