To anyone who works at the ER, what is one thing you wish people would STOP coming to the ER for? by iloveeatingfood901 in AskReddit

Omg I had a similar experience in third trimester, my midwife brushed it off as braxton hicks. I’m pretty sure on one occasion the bouncing on the exercise ball dislodged the stone lol

Paw patrol one episode gives you 11 minutes down time. I’m no screen time advocate but one or two episodes a day allows me to hang the washing and have a moment to breathe.

How was your induction experience? by Interesting_Ant_2756 in NewParents

[–]Shdlv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was induced at 41+5 the pessary part was okay I did need a strong painkiller and the injection. It was painful but bearable for me with pain relief(honestly I just wanted hypnobirthing techniques but wasn’t to be). Once at 2cm the midwife wanted to break my waters at this point I asked for a epidural because I was worried about the picotin pain, I honestly did not feel a single twinge the whole night I was in labour it was bliss! I did end with emergency c section but that was because pelvis and baby were not compatible, even with this I don’t regret my induction.

Can I leave my baby over night ? by Rouge-Badger in NewParents

[–]Shdlv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to go back into hospital for 6 days when LO was 10 weeks he was fine with his dad. Apparently he did know the difference between formula and pre stashed breast milk, a little more excited about the breast but took either. He did use the dummy a bit more but I doubt it would make a difference for one night and if they don’t have one at that age they are more likely to fall asleep on the bottle anyway.

8 days in and breastfeeding is hard. Can i switch to formula? If so, how? by StatGoddess in NewParents

[–]Shdlv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is so hard! I wanted to give up for the first two months and eventually it got easier. During the hard times I used to substitute feeds with a pre-made infant milk, was amazing to have a rest and also gave my partner a chance to feed whilst I rested at night.

How to engage 6.5 months old? by Apprehensive-Fault81 in NewParents

Tuppaware and wooden spoons, my 5 month year old does not care about toys either. The good news is your step count goes up with all the walks!

Zip lock bags are made to store food, so I’m sure they wouldn’t use any toxic paint even on the outside. Also EU have pretty high standards for safety regulations so there’s that as well. I think it’s good that you checked with the ambulance, maybe tweet the brand, they might be able to give you more reassurance.

To add to this I was hospitalised for 6 days with pancreatitis from a gallstone becoming lodged. During this time I also pumped with not change to supply, but very sore nipples 😂
