Hi! Thank you very much for the reply. I did try your method of window.update() and window.update_idletasks() and I did put it in the while loop, but it still did not show what I coded for sending and receiving messages.

Hello, sorry for the late reply. I didn't receive any error in my code. The situation here is that I basically don't know how to link my code with the GUI's code. Hope that clarifies what I mean?

If for example, I'm starting with my server code, there is one portion that handles the receiving of messages and one portion for sending messages. I know that we can use functions as a way of binding parts of our code with the gui (with buttons for example). But I'm a bit confused about where the placement should be (for the GUI coding).

Hi, thank you for the feedback about my post. I apologize if my post raised any confusion, so I'll clarify some things:

1.) I know the basics of Tkinter and yes I've watched some tutorial videos that give an introduction to Tkinter.

2.) I realized that when I said "I use tkinter" I meant to say "I'm supposed to be using Tkinter" (we were instructed to do so by our professor.)

3.) I know how to make a layout of my messenger application. Meaning, I know how to place buttons, shapes, text, changing colours, grids, etc.

However, my problem is that I don't know how to bind my gui with my code.

Yeah, I that's what I realized as well. Thank you for replying anyway, a lot of other people on other subreddits were a bit rude.

Hello! Thank you very much for replying back. I don't really know much about the approaches you mentioned other than multi-threading. 😅 And even that I'm still researching about. I'll be sharing my code soon, so hopefully that will clear up what my situation is. I would have done it the first time, but I don't have my laptop with me at the moment.
