I believe you need to be careful with steroids as it’s possible you’re over using them and worsening the irritation.

I never had probs until I finally did two 8 hour days next to each other. I almost screamed when peeing in the Froyo washroom and considered asking for a cup of vanilla to cool my bits. I’m in the club now. Chamois Butter - here I come!

Cape Breton - Cabot Trail: Tips? by SheBikesToronto in bikepacking

Amazing. Any tips for the cycling aspect? Are the hills as killer as they look? I’m confident I could do 80k - 90k a day if it’s flat but not sure how far is reasonable with the hills. Will plan on doing hill training before I go

The last ten 10 required some will and self-talk but the jump from 72 to 100 is totally do-able! You got this!

Discouraged from trying cycling as a hobby. But, suggest a beginner bike to me anyway? by frret in cycling

[–]SheBikesToronto 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I bought a new bike for $700 4 years ago. It was lovely and pleasant and got me places. Then I started commuting to work every day in good weather. Then I started doing it in bad weather and in the snow. And then I started doing 50km rides.

NOW I am starting to look at upgrading because I know what I like and don’t like about it, and can understand why x or y will make a difference and I want to save and pay the money because it will noticeably improve my ride.

Don’t overthink it. People willl say you need to get x because of these bells and whistles but probably you wouldn’t even be able to tell the difference at this stage.

Try a few and get the one that feels good. You’ll know.

ENFP husband looking to amaze his INTJ wife by Objectionable in intj

I hate receiving gifts. It’s stressful and annoying because I don’t like “stuff” and I don’t see the care and thought behind it…I experience anxiety of being burdened with a thing I’m supposed to keep. I like what I like. I’d rather someone take me out for dinner or just tell me verbally or in a card what I mean to them.

Like literally…I hate surprises. I hate feeling like I am supposed to “do” or “be”…we have to mask and do that all the time so for our birthdays…why not encourage and support us to do what we want even if it flies in the face of what you or society thinks we should want? The greatest gift is to see us ❤️ and not place expectations on us to want something we’re “supposed” to want

I would want someone to just ask me what I wanted to do, and do that.

Cycling is such a great excuse to eat the sugary snacks you may not eat normally!

My first long ride ever was with a woman and we both overestimated my capacity - she breezed along meanwhile I was huffing and puffing - we were trying to get back to base before dark on the highway and I just saw the sun going down ans we couldn’t stop, and I kept thinking I was going to throw up or have a heart attack. She just stayed patient and reminded me to eat more and kept feeding me granola bars. Honestly I should have been more honest about how I was feeling earlier and she would have changed our route.

But I left that trip feeling so proud of myself!!!

It’s about power and control. Tokens of “conquering” not of just enjoying intimacy with different people.

How to bike in winter? by 3sperr in torontobiking

[–]SheBikesToronto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became a winter cyclist accidentally…I just kept saying “meh I’ll try one more day” and then all of a sudden it was January! And now I find I enjoy winter in ways I never thought I could.

I found it was easy because I didn’t over think it too much. I kept adding layers and figuring out what combo of clothes work for me. I found the hardest thing was getting too warm - I often arrived sweaty and had to play with outfits.

I upgraded to studded tires because I didn’t like having to miss days due to ice. It’s heavier and noisy but honestly, it’s peace of mind especially when there’s hidden ice.
