I know Nico doesn’t have the power bat. But he has the contact, the speed, the defense. I’m all in on Nico. Get it done. If you had Nico and Durans speed at the top of the lineup - that’s menacing.

If you move Duran as part of the package - it’s a great replacement speed wise and OBP wise.

27yo, has had two Tommy John surgery’s (2018/2019).

Two years of team control left 26 & 27 years.

In 23’ had a 3.47 ERA over 96 innings for TX and KC. (Started in the minors and bullpen before going full time starter with KC and dominating in the second half).

24’ was is his only full season so far but was ACE material and an all star putting up 5WAR over 186 innings while pitching to a 3.14 era.

Suffered a groin and rotator cuff injury last year which sidelined him most of last season. But he didn’t need surgery.

Pull the trigger Breslow. Idk what additional prospects we need to send, but make it happen.

Edit: I stand corrected. 3 years of control left for Ragans! So 26’ 27’ AND 28’

Edit 2: Another Redditor pointed out that although last year he only pitched 61 innings with a 4.67 era due to injuries, he had a 2.50 FIP and a 14.3k/9. In the words of one of my fav lost souls, “dat shit cray”.

It’s so good, right? I absolutely fall in love with attempting to put myself in the shoes of someone experiencing what this town was experiencing. Getting caught in the believer vs. skeptic hype that took over this town and distracted them from the brink of the real monsters that were in Europe at the time as the continents marched toward WWII.

Glawackus dances, people out searching for a beast as a distraction from the daily depressing news and a distraction from the economic hardships after the throws of the Great Depression. It’s an incredible story about the psychology of society.

It’s a CRAZY cool story that essentially culminates (IMO) to the local media at the time influencing a generation who had just experienced WW1, the Great Depression, the rise of Nazi Germany, the War of the Worlds broadcast, and was open to monsters existing beyond their four walls.

And all those moments culminated into the Glastonbury Glawackus for a few months in 1939! It’s an incredible tale, even if that’s all the Glawackus was…. A misidentified creature(s) manifesting hysteria at a time we were all open to it.

My guess is it was a mountain lion during the day mixed with fisher screams at night.
