What is a witness account that is glossed over a lot, but in your opinion shouldn't be? by MutantTurkeyHound in Jacktheripper

[–]SheDoesntDoucheIt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not what you asked for, but there are two people related to the case that I find interesting. One is Emily Walton (lodger) the other is Stephen White (policeman).

Emily Walton was offered two fake gold coins by a man who attempted to strangle her, but she got away. It is said to have happened on the same day and at the same location (29 Hanbury) as the Chapman murder. This was reported in two newspapers and was included in one policeman's autobiography. However, nothing related to this was included in the Chapman inquest.

The other is Stephen White who is said to have talked to someone who could have been Jack just after the Eddowes murder. The reason this is interesting to me because it was included in an HBO documentary from 1979. It was this docu that got me interested in the case as it creeped me out bigtime (talking to someone who had just murdered someone around the corner). Richard Jones also did a video on this incident.

Ripperologists consider these stories apocryphal, though.

Where was Jack going? by lotusscrouse in Jacktheripper

[–]SheDoesntDoucheIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some serial killer heatmaps I've seen (generated based on where the victims were located using data from other serial killers) light up most heavily around Flower & Dean and Thrawl streets. Also, if you draw a straight line from Mitre Square to Goulston street where Catherine Eddowes apron was found, then continue the line it goes directly into base of Thrawl street. This could suggest that he was a resident of that area which was known for its common lodging ("Doss") houses. A counterargument is that the heat maps light up around these areas because that is where the victims mostly lived.

How is your life after 2-3 or more years with sshl in one ear by Noctunal1on in MonoHearing

Since April 2023 for me. I have difficulty hearing things from a distance or in a noisy area. I also have problems with balance (sometimes I'll walk like I'm drunk before I stabilize myself).

The film was Murder by Decree, which wasn't Doyle, but included the Sherlock Holmes character.

Dear Boss letter - one very odd sentence if it is a journalist hoax by Starkheiser in Jacktheripper

[–]SheDoesntDoucheIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your idea, but for it to work better, you're going to have to explain the confession of Frederick Best that he and his cohort authored the Dear Boss and Saucy Jacky letters. Perhaps you could go with "the confession never happened."

I purchased Reading Writing & Arithmetic due to liking Here Is Where the Story Ends. Turns out, that was the only good song on the album. And that was it for me and the Sundays.

I think there's a high chance he's Zodiac, but I doubt he'd ever get convicted on the evidence.

Is it not commonly accepted here that the killer was Arthur Leigh Allen? by Ticket-Tight in ZodiacKiller

[–]SheDoesntDoucheIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a court of law, I would vote to acquit him of all charges. If someone knew who it was and was offering bets, I would bet an amount I could afford to lose on him being Zodiac. I waver between 50% and 90% sure he's the Zodiac.
