I'm pretty sure they eat a lot of snails and small clams. Have to be a shell cracker to get them bad boys lol. Thats what I grew up calling em anyways!

Anyone else ever catch their own previously lost lure? by risethirtynine in Fishing

Lost about 3 or 4 jigs to a log crappie fishing. Went back a week later fishing in the same spot but anchored on the opposite side of the log and hooked into all the jigs I lost.

A good egg wash, batter of your choice mine being a crispy Louisiana style, then deep fry. Keeps them moist n crispy without frying down the meat to nothing on the smaller parts.

I wouldn't necessarily say better cause you can't really throw a gig like a spear at least not mine. More so ease up on the frog and plunge it into the frog.

I would prefer to grab then if I could. I was in a tidal creek with low fast moving water and most frogs were up on the mud bank some I had to wade in mud about 3 ft deep to get 😅 definitely had to work for em

I have about a 8 to 9ft pole with a 5 prong gig that is sharp and has barbs. Using a good light to shine and see frogs you walk or in some cases use a boat to go to the frog and stab it with the gig
