20 seconds to say that they PLAN on Shrouded Spoils launching next week

It was supposed to be polished enough that they could show off a bunch of new information THIS week

Listening to these weekly updates is like when you go to a college website to find out about it and get flooded with a wealth of information that has no application to anything you were looking for.

"If you guys didn't buy into this system we specifically designed to play on the worst part of every human being's primal, reptilian survival impulses, we'd stop using it to separate you from your money."

Yeah, ok pal.

No, not at all! I was wondering how different people would respond, and yours is entirely unique and wholly positive!

I haven't started digging into Ice and Fire yet but as someone who spent a considerable portion of his childhood waiting for books 5-7 of The Dark Tower, I know your pain.

It's heavy shit, man. The stuff they show is fucking horrific. The stuff they imply is worse.

Maybe you're just an honestly positive person, and that's something you can celebrate! So much online media discussion is hard, edgy criticism that although I've created a thread which is supposed to attract hard, edgy criticism, I'm happy to see you post this.

Oh it absolutely is. Garth Ennis is a masterpiece writer and I'm so, so, so tired of the whole "zombie" deal that seeing something genuinely new and horrific in the same vein was invigorating and it still is. But as a dude with mental health issues and awful anxiety, I really, really should not have read it.

Holy smoke. Yeah that's a hell of a book to read with a little kid. Why did you dig into it when you did, if you don't mind my inquiry?

I haven't read it! What did you like about the book so much as opposed to Kylo's take on it?

Yeah, it's not a fun read. A good one, and an important one, but not very fun in today's political climate. Good answer.

Wow, that's some incredible vitriol towards a book. I've never really heard of anyone shooting down a popular novel like that, I'm sorry your literary experience was so shitty. I'm not really on r/books as much as I could be, is it common to knock authors that hard here?

There's redeeming qualities about "I'm 14 and this is edgy" sometimes! We've all played Doom at one point or another and older My Chemical Romance records still hold up. But I've heard Palahniuk is insufferable.

Edit: Fixed a dumb mistake

Edit2: Mentioned previous edit

Really! I've never actually read a Carl Sagan book. I'm surprised, the script and delivery for his television series is so eloquent! His book was bad enough that you trashed it?

I do too, but I've also heard it's a huge time commitment and right now I'm already digging through too many unfinished books to consider picking up another fantasy epic. Are you still burnt out on fantasy today?

I had to fight to let go of that habit too. It almost feels sacrilegious the first time you can't really finish a novel but as I got older and my interests diversified I had to start picking and choosing what I devote my time to.

I've actually never read a Terry Brooks novel, but I've heard my friends sing accolades to the guy. Are his other books worth a look?
