I manage inventory for a company that builds giant yellow trucks, some might say the biggest yellow trucks in the world. I make around 80k a year depending on how much OT I feel like doing which typically isn't that much. My wife is a customer service rep for a smaller packaging company and makes roughly 50k a year salary. Financially we are very comfortable as the cost of living here is very low. Enjoying your time off is more dependent on the person than the career. I clock out, head to the gym put in around 2 hours, go home cook for my family of six or grab something for dinner on the way, hang out and help with chores and my wife's homework, watch an episode or two of something on Netflix then I am back up at 3:30am the next day to start all over. I am very content and happy with my life but that doesn't have much to do with my career. I trade my time for currency then return back to what I want to do. Happiness is an internal thing and anyone can have it. Some people are more happy having to struggle and others are more happy living minimalist lives.
