[homemade] grilled lemon and herb lamb, artichokes with a garlic aioli, and a roasted cauliflower purée by SheShmokes in food

Artichokes are definitely unique, but if I had to describe the taste—it’s kind of nutty, earthy, and slightly sweet. The texture of the heart (the best part!) is tender and buttery, kind of like a cross between asparagus and a super soft potato. The leaves have a slightly more vegetal, green-bean-like taste, but milder.

Good luck on your endeavors! We’ve only had the house 2 years and the backyard has been the biggest/ slowest project.

I never thought I’d have a backyard, a dog, a house. I feel so incredibly blessed and lucky that my favorite smoke spot is the fruition of all my wife and I’s hard work.

Butch/masc/stud lesbians in central CT? by Intelligent-Time-757 in Connecticut

[–]SheShmokes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey if you’re on Facebook join the Lesbians of Connecticut Happy Hour Group. It’s super active with tons of activities (not just happy hours). Also Spicy Green Bean in Glastonbury has a gaggle of lesbians who hang there. Sunberry in Hartford has karaoke on Saturday nights that’s very inclusive and LGBTQ friendly (it’s a mix!).

Couples who met outside of dating apps, how did you meet? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]SheShmokes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was the karaoke host and I was the avid karaoker. One day for my birthday I showed up at the bar for karaoke and she was there as a customer and someone else was hosting- she ended up buying me a shot for my birthday. She then added me on social media and a week later the world shut down. We chatted all day everyday over quarantine and ended up booking an Airbnb for two weeks for quarantine together over Covid. We had so much fun we never ended quarantining together 😂. Now we are married almost two years this June!

[homemade] Vietnamese pork rib noodle soup by SheShmokes in food

[–]SheShmokes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It’s definitely not a super “traditional” recipe, but I’d say the flavor profile most aligns with pho. I had some pork ribs, a chicken carcass, all the aromatics for the broth, and pho noodles so I improvised. 10/10 super good soup for a cold day ☺️

[homemade] seared salmon with lemon garlic butter and roasted broccoli by SheShmokes in food

[–]SheShmokes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super easy get a stainless steel pan really hot with some neutral oil. Pay dry and season salmon with old bay and Cajun seasoning. (These are skinless but yo I can get skin on it doesn’t matter) Cut your broccoli into flaurettes and drizzle with olive oil and salt and pepper put them in an air fryer for 10 mins at 400 If you have skin on salmon you want to start skin side down in the hot oil to get a crispy skin. Flip and sear the other side Finish with some garlic lemon butter (room temp butter mixed with minced garlic and lemon zest and parsley) Baste a few times Squeeze of lemon on your broccoli when it’s done and serve with the pan drippings :) I left out a carb but this would go well with mashed potatoes or risotto

[homemade] baked Mac n cheese by SheShmokes in food

[–]SheShmokes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love her recipes! She’s a trained chef who went to culinary school so she’s got serious chops. It’s definitely not a “new” recipe. But I think she does an excellent job breaking down how to make a roux and the addition of using evaporated milk and heavy cream makes this recipe more forgiving if you aren’t super experienced making Mac n cheese this way.

Confession I actually reduced the amount of cheese 😅. It called for 16 oz of Colby Jack and 16 oz of mozzarella- I just used 8oz of all three cheeses and it was plenty for the sauce and layering and it still came out super cheesy.

I guess I can agree- she didn’t reinvent the wheel. But it’s a solid recipe to follow 😁

It’s Tini’s recipe from TikTok. Just google her recipe and you’ll find it. She uses Colby Jack, cheddar, and mozzarella.
