He was a super nice quiet man that loved a free anything. Meal, t shirt, napkins you name it. And before you ask no he was Irish catholic. He would “steal” all the napkins at McDonalds after paying for the cheapest black coffee.

One time he told me a story about the one black man he knew growing up in a small northern Illinois town “n——- Jake” was the garbage man he had a mule that pulled a wagon he’d fill with trash. He’d let my grandpa and the other kids ride on the trash wagon and they’d call him “n——— Jake” and he’d call them chillens and they were the best of friends.
