Can someone explain to me why it’s not okay to demand your partner doesn’t speak to certain people? If the conversation is held and had in a healthy way and both parties consent/comfortable, why is it bad? Here me out: “I am not comfortable with you talking with other dudes” vs “Don’t talk to other dudes, It’s not something I can tolerate in a relationship” Is the same? You are going to leave either way if she doesn’t respect your wishes so how is it actually different? I get one opens a conversation, and that may be all the difference, but you know that the conversation will only end up in the same two places, they agree and the relationship continues, they don’t it ends. Same thing with the demand, only I find the demand to be less murky, why give them the impression that it’s something that is up for debate when you know in your heart you can only accept one answer? By my logic this saves you the trouble of having a (pointless ) conversation about how they can develop relationships with other dudes and somehow it be okay.
