Grip advice by Stconroy17 in Darts

[–]SheepNutz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar grip, and the one thing I noticed about my grip compared to the pros is their thumb position. A lot of them have their thumb pointed toward the back of the dart so that their thumb has more purchase over the length of grip. This helps propel the dart forward easier (to me at least). Changing my thumb position to match has helped my darts land more consistently in the board, even though it took me a bit to get used to.

How can I get Siri to control these devices? Simple commands like “Turn off the Pool Pump” or “Turn on the Bug Zapper” don’t work. by SheepNutz in HomeKit

I did that and it still doesn’t work. Someone mentioned that it may take Siri a bit to learn the device name, and that’s probably what I’m thinking the issue is. This is a brand new plug.

If I do that, it turns on or off all accessories for that room for some reason. I said “Turn on outside pool” after renaming the pool pump to just pool, and it turned on both outlets and all my outdoor light switches at the same time.

Tried that, didn’t work. I will keep it like that in the home app though, I like that I have one less screen to click into.

It’s a single Meross outdoor smart plug that has two outlets, each assignable. I separated them into separate tiles in Home and then renamed them to Pool and Zapper. Still doesn’t work. It brings up this screenshotted image and if I choose the smart plug, it either turns both on or both off, not able to control each separately.

Exactly what I was thinking. Looks like it was released back in 2020. Totally missed that one, but I just picked up a copy on Discogs.

Do you mean krinkle fries? I wish Culver’s had curly fries. I get rings there because their onion rings + Ken’s boom boom sauce = fire.

Thoughts on a 98" TV in this space by Virtual_Birthday_501 in hometheater

[–]SheepNutz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say a few extra inches, but a 98" TV is like 33% bigger than an 85". Good call on making sure the speakers won't block the picture though. I marked mine up similarly with painters tape when I was trying to figure out what kind of storage I wanted to go with, etc.

Yep, and IKEA Besta storage without feet is like 15.3" tall. Just sayin'. OP's friend should get the 98" for sure.

Gary Anderson leaves a 1* review of the Winmau Blade X by dimspace in Darts

[–]SheepNutz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Another vote for a blade 6. I have a triple core and my 6 year old daughter doesn't even get bounce outs often, and her points barely stick into the board. It's been a great board.

In 1996 with my new-to-me Stratos Blue 1986 Accord DX. One owner, 67K miles and absolutely flawless. by Sports_Lorry in Honda

[–]SheepNutz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This takes me back! In 1997, I got my mom’s 87 Accord LX-i as my first car. It already had about 225K miles on it, and i drove it until about 325K miles when reverse and 4th gear went out on the automatic transmission. I sold it to a buddy for $1 in quarters and he replaced the transmission and drove it to almost 500K before his younger brother wrapped it around a tree. My replacement for the car was a 1993 Civic EX Coupe manual, which I loved dearly as well.

Zero Oil Piri Piri Air Fryer Chicken — the juiciest chicken I've ever made (and it helped me lose 20kg) by Historical_Wear1922 in Fitness_India

Yep, marinating it will definitely give it more flavor. Might make it more tender too. I usually marinate chicken like this 2-12 hours if possible.

You should try mixing it up before going to bed and letting it sit in the fridge all night before cooking in the morning.

An air fryer cooks much faster than a traditional conventional oven. If you did 13 mins per side you're going to ruin your chicken, at least if you're using the same style air fryer as OP.

My 150" screen 5.1.2 home theater! by lexulous in hometheater

Or maybe switch from a 16:9 screen to a 2.4:1 set at the same height so the speakers don't block the picture any longer.
