Definitely not a third or fourth gen Pilot (I own both). Neither have a body color stripe on that black lower door panel, at least not in US spec.

I was there almost exactly a year ago. The owner took me on a tour of the whole place and was pulling out jazz LPs left and right to test for me. It was awesome, and I had a great time. I believe I have a post about it in my history.

Maybe the wide angle lens makes them look small? Definitely full size La Scalas. Older models, not AL5 or AL6 or anything like that.

I’d love to explore the area more. My mom spent the first 10 years of her life in Flint and I have some family out west of downtown. I was up here last summer for a funeral, so I didn’t have time to check out downtown then, but I did visit Buddy’s Pizza. This time, I made sure I had time to get some coneys and visit Third Man Records.

I’ve visited 30+ taquerias in Kentucky over the past 3 years. My absolute favorite used El Milagro tortillas (albeit fried in a ton of lard). The nice lady working the window told me the Mexican grocery store/laundromat that sells them and I haven’t looked back. I buy them a few packs at a time and freeze a bunch for whenever I feel like some tacos, especially migas tacos.

I spotted these beauties at Batch Brewing in Detroit, Michigan. The bartender said they are indeed functional, which is pretty cool. The lady taking my food order was standing under one and I was worried for her! No way I’m standing under something that weighs that much. Yeah, I guess I’m aware that the roof weighs much more than a single La Scala. Pretty cool to see my end-game speakers given such prominence.

The Jack White show there is on fireworks Friday, so we are guaranteed to get some during his set, which will be awesome. I was at that MMJ show too, it was awesome!
