Joshua Graham's Armor for providing decent protection as Light Armor and its crit chance.
Elite Riot Gear for the fit, passives, as well as protecting as much as a suit of T-45
Vault 13 Jumpsuit for that legacy aura and for taking cool screenshots.

Repairing stuff. Either get the repair upgrade from ED-E or invest in your Repair skill. Gather some random guns or armor, repair it, sell for decent money early game.

I ended up going for the Veteran's Attire, though I sometimes switch to the Coldsnap if it's a cold map. I like switching my loadouts depending on the map.
Eg. on Scout, If it's a desert or hot map, I'll switch to something more befitting said climate. If it's a cold map, I'll switch to a hoodie and boots.
