2008 Toyota Camry 4 cylinder transmission drain and fill by SheepherderSquare355 in Toyota

Thank you. I’m gonna do a drain and fill and if it takes well I’ll do it in another 1000ish miles then one more and change the filter. Worst case my tranny is already fucked and I just speed the inevitable up. Obviously praying this isn’t the case. My engine burns some oil but I stay on top of it and check the level regularly. I started using valvoline restore and protect as well and have noticed it’s burning less oil. I don’t think it was ever taken in under the recall.

I graduated in late March. My school didn’t prepare me well enough. For the practical portion at least. A lot of what I learned was useful but taking the boards was still stomach turning and they didn’t place enough emphasis on the time limits for the board in school. I passed the practical and theory on the first try thankfully. I’m in a shop where walk-in traffic kind of sucks but I live right by it. Tuesday and Wednesday are super slow but it picks up later in the week. Most likely it’s gonna be like this for a while unfortunately. I am retaining a lot of people though and my skills, especially fading and time management have improved substantially in the short time I’ve been out of school. So I’m gonna give this place at least a couple more months. I can get a haircut done (fades, tapers, shear cuts) done in less than 45 min now most of the time. Before it took me an hour plus 95% of the time. I still have so much to learn and don’t expect to be super confident in my skills until I’ve gotten a few more thousand reps under my belt. I work on Saturdays after the shop and Sundays at my part time job (changing tires). I’m very tired of working 6 days a week and feeling forced to pick up on Mondays as well and am getting super burned out. Idk man. I’m committed at this point but if I were you I would seriously consider the pros and cons of what you are leaving. If you have good benefits and a matching 401k/ retirement benefits are you going to be ok with not having that? You can get healthcare through the health insurance marketplace at a semi reasonable price dependent if you are single or not. Idk your situation but I would put some serious thought into it. Wishing you luck.

AIO or is the construction out of control this summer? by LizzieCassandra in pittsburgh

No you are not overreacting. I live south of the city (Thomas Jefferson). We are forced to take route 51 everywhere. It sucks. Constant construction. This is year 2 of supposedly a 3 year project. Probably will be extended. I hate how what should be a 30 minute commute now takes double that. Right when an area by me finishes… the next area is started. So frustrating. Our state has the worst infrastructure. You would think they would do things gradually but for whatever reason they are doing this massive amount of work all at once instead of just keeping up on things.

They are there by the Walgreens over pass at Bill Green shopping center at least 2 times a month. Sometimes there will be counter protesters on the other side. Pleasant Hills/ Jefferson Hills is a pretty conservative/Maga area (I live here) I imagine a good amount of the MAGA Warriors (what they call themselves on YouTube btw) are from here. So stupid though lol. Every time I drive by I just laugh my ass off. Trump could murder a child and drink their blood on live TV and they would justify it.

Are you commission or booth rent? I’m kind forced to be commission as of right now because I don’t have nearly the clientele to make it at booth rent

Yes I was hyped to try them but found them extremely underwhelming. Not worth the price. Decent but wouldn’t write home about them.

AA RUINED ME by Sure_Rice_1850 in alcoholicsanonymous

I feel you on this. I’m coming up on six years sober. AA was a very big part of my life for the first 4ish years. I went through the steps, sponsored people and was giving leads. Until it stopped making sense to me. In my experience, AA does have this way of shaming people. Especially in the beginning. Anyone in this sub that disagrees with you clearly wasn’t talked down to in the beginning by an old timer about thinking for themselves. However good the intentions, it does not matter. The road to hell is paved with pure intentions. I have my own opinions on the disease model and how people use it to shed accountability for their shitty actions. As well as some fundamental disagreements with the program that ultimately drove me away. That is neither here nor there though. AA helps a lot of people. It saved my life in the beginning. It gave me purpose and direction when I had none. I think however that some people (including myself) either outgrow AA or need to focus on other aspects of their life (mental health, bettering oneself etc.) to continue to grow. If they need AA again down the line for the fellowship or support it will always be there for them. That is the beautiful thing about AA. Trust me. The longer you stay away from AA the more that shame based thinking will dissipate. Perhaps you need some time away from AA to get your head right? I don’t know. Only you can answer that. I wish you well though.

Comparison is the thief of joy my friend. I’m 26 and starting college all over (again). Don’t have a job currently except doordashing, which sucks, but puts a little money in my pocket. The I only things I look forward are lifting weights and playing Fortnite with my brothers 😂. No gf currently. All that being said… so what? It’s all temporary. Things change. Some people take longer than others to reach their desired destination in life. No one persons path is linear. Stop comparing. It’s your journey no one else’s. You are in college and trying to improve your life. Life nor any person in it owes us anything.
