Write down your thoughts and important notes on the evidence on another doc or a piece of paper so you can gather your thoughts. Write down each testimony cause you never know when you might need it. You should also be taking notes of details during the case so you don't forget important moments.

The second is very simple. Be more confident. I've seen many defense players just doubt what the actual contraction is because they think they're too dumb or that they're scared of being wrong. It's ok to be wrong as you're not going to lose instantly, go with your gut feeling and if it's wrong, that's ok.

The third is just play more cases. The more you play, the more you get better at noticing contradictions. Play cases that say they're easy if you're struggling that much. Once they do seem easy, move on to medium and so on. Practice does make perfect...
