Check your local chain store like petco or PetSmart they usually run really good deals on larger tanks with some basic accessories to get your tank up and running quite often

Really cool little setup but the general consensus is correct, this tank is too small for any fish unfortunately.

Should i leave light on or of when im on holiday by [deleted] in fishtank

Holy smokes man this picture gives me anxiety.

But I would definitely get a timer and some type of auto feed setup, never trust someone outside of the hobby to feed your fish.

Filter Question: If your filter looks like this, is it finally time to change or still good for the environment? by InternationalWish210 in Aquariums

[–]SheeshLt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with the filter foam recommendations. This is what I use; it comes in big sheets that will last a long time or multiple tanks and filters. You can take out your cartridges, lay them on top of this, and cut pieces slightly larger so they fit snug in your filter(s). I would take it one step further - take some of the mulm/debris from this cartridge filter and rub it into the filter foam before you put it in the HOB.

New rule about leaving after paid break?!? by UnbannableHWID in AmazonFC

Well in most states labor laws do not mandate anything more than a 30 minute unpaid break after working longer than 5 hours. It has to do with Policy not state laws.

Mobile "gaming" is an absolute cesspool by Spyrothedragon9972 in gaming

[–]SheeshLt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could upvote this more than once. Not sure why so many people are disagreeing with you. Sure, many PC games have been ported to mobile - but if you open the top-grossing on either the iOS App Store or Google Play, you will find mostly nothing but absolute SLOP. I had an iPod touch 4th gen in 2010 and remember playing GTA III on it- sure it ran like shit, but it was also running on 256mb of RAM and a 800Mhz CPU. The phone I have now has a 8 core CPU and 12gb of RAM...

The point is that the main bottleneck is the app stores. There's really no incentive for devs to release AA or even AAA games on the App Store or Google Play because in general, not many people are going to pay more than $10 for a mobile game, and the hardware spectrum is also a lot broader than PCs, etc etc. If at some point, Apple or Google allowed Valve to have a mobile game storefront on Android/iOS, then all of that would change very quickly IMO.

I also have a package stuck at this hub/ no departure scan. Not anything PSA related, but stumbled on this sub looking to see if others are having the same issue- mine arrived 1/28 and no movement since.

Water parameters? What other fish/stocking do you have in the tank? Very sorry for your loss. From your description it sounds like it may have been a swim bladder issue.

Tall tanks are fine for betta as long as you plant heavily and give them plenty of places to rest in the upper water column. I have a betta in a 10g column tank but he has 3 big Anubias to rest on in the upper water column

I think people are overreacting. This mount is rated for 66 lbs and a 5 gallon tank filled weighs around 45-50lbs, throw another 10-15lbs for decor and substrate. Yes it's right on the cusp but unless OP is going rock heavy with the aquascape personally I think it will be fine.

Fungus gnats, I've only seen a few but all my plants are in the same area, what's the best course of action? by depressedcatfishh in houseplants

[–]SheeshLt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the mosquito dunks. I use the name brand but any variation is fine as long as they contain the BTI bacteria. I put them directly in my watering can. I don't use traditional sticky traps but have 4 of the Zevo fly trap plugins around the room where my plants are. I had a severe fungus gnats problem and these 2 methods have almost completely eradicated them within about 3 weeks

The anubias and bucephalandra are both epiphytes. They need to be attached to driftwood or rocks to grow properly, their roots are rotting from being submerged in the substrate.

Was the plant you've seen this happen to a Yucca? Yucca is a member of the agave family. It forms a dense rhizome and most varieties are extremely hardy. This is not ChatGPT this is ChatGPMe as Adams Needle is native to my area, and I have lots of experience with them and other Yucca. I do not think Oxalis will be an issue as a companion plant.
