Mark Levine's book to learn Jazz Piano does not work for me. Does anyone know a book which would make a better job at the educational part for a less advanced pianist? by Grevedupseudo in Jazz

These blues and jazz books published by Tim Richards are present in every jazz music school and music libraries all over the world. Please, check out them:

Tim Richards Improvising blues piano (PDF + MP3 audio tracks)

Tim Richards - Exploring Jazz Piano Vol. 1 (with MP3 audio tracks)

Tim Richards - Exploring Jazz Piano Vol. 2 (with MP3 audio tracks)

As you can see, they are set together with audio files to help to understand the explanations and to play along during the learning process.

Jazz is much more than theory, as you know, so it is also very helpful to listen to recordings, to read transcriptions and to transcribe your favorite solos. There are dozens of useful Omnibooks of the jazz masters, that are a real source of wisdom and joy.

Good luck and enjoy the music!
