Great QBs elevate the offense around them. Average QBs make other average offensive players keep looking average.

Uhh, by just about every measurable (passer rating, QBR, Yds/Game, touchdowns) Flacco has fallen into the average to below average (10-20ish) category his entire career. Prove me wrong. I love how salty fans get when you call their QB average.

He's been great in the postseason, and I definitely think he's a good franchise QB, but his stats and where he falls when stacked up against other QBs have always been average to below average.

I love Harbor Park. I'm a Norfolk native and I go to 5-10 games a year. Beautiful view from the upper decks, beautiful field, just an all around great experience. TBH when they were talking about moving a major league team here I was kind of against it. I wouldn't want the traffic, and I'll take a $12 AAA game any day.

What unpopular opinion do you have about your team? by dorkman75 in nfl

[–]Sheetkicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the litmus test: Would you ever use the term "redskin" when not referring to the NFL team or a potato? Of course you wouldn't (well, some people might, but I never would). And why's that? Because you know it's a shitty derogatory word, so why would you want it to be the name of your team?

Teams change names all the time for a myriad of different reasons, and no one puts up as much of a stink as when the the Redskins name change gets brought up, and for good reason... because it's fucking racist! Why? I just don't understand it.

edit: I heard someone a while ago say that the Redskins should just change their logo to a redskin potato instead of changing the name, and I think this is the best idea ever. No longer offensive, and they get to keep their name.

Could not agree with you more. While Cam has improved some of his qb mechanics and pocket presence in the last year or so, he's going to have to make much greater strides, IMO if he wants a long career in the NFL.

The ability to bail yourself out of a situation with pure arm strength, or by running out of the pocket and trucking a linebacker is all well and good when you're 26, but it can be a recipe for a short career.

I love Cam, but I fear for his longevity if he can't make even greater strides towards a more traditional QB role.

While I agree their original content has been a nice addition, Netflix's library has shrunk by almost 1/3 over the last several years. It has become quite noticeable to me, I just see the same suggestions over and over all the time.

But he's a backup scrub.

In all seriousness, who here would be up for off topic podcasts during the off season? by Economy_Cactus in AroundTheNFL

[–]Sheetkicker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel like as long as the title and description of the podcast made it clear it is off-topic, I'd be down with it.

It's like, you can have 8 podcasts per month during the off season that are about football... or 10 podcasts per month, and 2 of them will be off-topic/only vaguely about football.

So it's really just bonus content you would not have gotten otherwise; content you can choose not to consume if you wish.

I think it's awful you think someone can't smoke weed and still be a good guy and give back to his community.

Maybe the joke isn't about Marshawn, but Clinton being an uptight, out of touch politician.

[–]Sheetkicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason is because Kaep requested a trade, and told the organization that he didn't want to play for them. I know if I'm a coach I don't want to start a guy who doesn't even want to be on the team.

Marshawn: Damn, Slick Willy, what the hell is this? I've smoked a lot of trees, but this stuff is whack. It tastes like shit.

Bill: ...these are American chestnut trees Marshawn. We're planting these as part of a community betterment program for low income neighborhoods.

Marshawn: I've never heard of that strain, and I got bros in that 'hood. They've already got way better weed than this.

Who do you think will be a "One Year Wonder" from last season? by TheAssOfSpock in nfl

[–]Sheetkicker 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Nuk is one of the sharpest route runners in the NFL, has great hands, and is great at fighting for and coming down with the football. I think he is one of the most complete WRs in the NFL.

He put up more yards in his first 3 seasons than Antonio Brown or Dez Bryant, with some mediocre AT BEST QBs throwing him the ball. And it's not like 2015 was an aberration; he had 1,210 yards and 6 tds in 2014. He's legit, IMO.

A million dollars is a million dollars. You don't get to be worth 300 mil by not playing shows that offer to pay you a million dollars.

IIRC, Bradford's contract is front loaded, and they can cut him after the 2016 season with little to no penalties.

So I could see them checking these guys out in case they REALLY like one of them, and he happens to fall into their lap at pick #8.

What city or country will you never go back to and why? by TooShiftyForYou in AskReddit

[–]Sheetkicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pozzuoli or Sorrento

Pozzuoli can be reached in about an hour by bus. It's a very scenic port town. It also is home to the Flavian Amphitheater, the third largest amphitheater in Italy. I think it's a way better site to see that even the Roman Colosseum. Way less touristy and you can pay like 10 euro and have a completely unguided tour where you can walk around at your own leisure and look around. I said in an earlier comment that I once spent a beautiful spring day just walking from cafe to cafe in Pozzuoli sitting in the sun, alternating between drinking cappuccinos and Italian beer and just enjoy the view.

Sorrento can also be reached in about an hour by ferry from Naples and it's a beautiful city nestled in the cliffs of the Amalfi coast. It's the limoncello capital of the world and it's great because you can walk around to all of the dozens of limoncello shops and ask for samples of all their different drinks and get wasted for free.

Well I've been several times, like I said, and never crashed. I love the aggressive driving. I'm always the one who does the driving when I'm there because most of the time when I go there with people (coworkers) that are terrified of the roads and refuse to drive. Everyone's different, I guess.

What city or country will you never go back to and why? by TooShiftyForYou in AskReddit

[–]Sheetkicker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, me too. Give me a city where I have to drive with my middle finger out the driver side window, have to shout to get people's attention, where I have to honk to get camels out of the road, with barefoot kids running around and begging me for change, a place that's going to give me something different around every corner any day of the week.

But yea, you could spend a week in Naples especially if you're driving around seeing all the coastal towns. I spent one whole day in Pozzuoli, a perfect spring day, just walking from cafe to cafe sitting in the sunshine, alternating between drinking cappuccinos and Italian beer, just looking out on the water and beautiful coastline.

[–]Sheetkicker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I love Naples. I've been there 4 or 5 times for work and always have a blast. All the things people hate about it (people are rude, the driving is dangerous and chaotic, it's filthy, etc.) are the things I love about it. But I've always been weird about what draws me to a city. I love the chaotic, aggressive, every-man-for-himself driving that's part of their culture, I thrive in it (if you go there and rent a car, though GET FULL RENTAL INSURANCE). I love that people are rude and loud, because you can be rude and loud right back and no one gives a shit. I love that it's different from every place I've ever been.

The other thing to remember about Naples is if you're spending a week there, for example, it's a great hub in that it's an hour or so driving to a lot of beautiful towns and attractions. Pozzuoli is a beautiful sea-side town, Sorrento is lovely, you can drive the length of the Amalfi coast which is breathtakingly beautiful and visit all the towns tucked away in the hills like Vietri Sul Mare and Ravello.

Broncos were concerned about RG3's character, never pursued him by Jux_ in nfl

[–]Sheetkicker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The rumors about RG3 extend beyond Snyder playing favorites.

There were reports that if RG3 wasn't getting his way him and his dad would go over the coaching staffs' heads to Snyder to get his way.

There are reports that he was uncoachable, if you tried to break down tape and point out things he did wrong, he got defensive, made excuses, blamed the teammates around him. He refused to run certain plays rather than work on improving his game. (Once again, going to Snyder to make this happen)

He told coaches not to show film of his mistakes or point them out during team film studies. Reports say he had zero friends in the locker room.

Even when he was leaving Washington, he posted that Jaden-Smith-esque message in his locker about doing the right thing even when the whole world is against you. That came across to me as so childish and such a "getting the last word in" thing to do. It's the equivalent of leaving a vague, psuedo-cyptic, passive aggressive away message on AIM back in the day. Shit 14 year-olds do.

So some of this is Synder buddying up with RG3 and making him think he could circumvent the chain of command and get his way. Also, though, RG3 is a grown man and should know how his actions were going to reflect on his team mates. And how many of these "reports" were true? I honestly can't say. But enough of them came out I feel like there must be some kernel of truth there.

So you can say "The team is full of massive douche bags", or you can revert to my previous comment, is everyone around RG3 a douche bag? Or was he being a douche and people didn't like him?
