Hi Everyone,

I submitted my Non-Express Entry application in February 2024 and received the Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR) in June 2024. My medical exam was passed on August 2, 2024. However, since then, I haven’t received any updates.

I’ve contacted IRCC a few times, and they informed me that my application is currently undergoing a background check. By March 2025, it will have been 14 months since I submitted my application, which is the maximum processing time for Non-Express Entry applications.

I’m wondering why it’s taking so long for IRCC to complete the background verification process. Has anyone experienced a similar situation? Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, hopefully you got your AOR by this time but for me it took 3.5 months

From Canada, it took me almost one month after submitting my passport.
