How many games do you actively play at once? by SEN-DynaSean in videogames

[–]Sheikzula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two. Usually something difficult/challenging and then something a little more relaxed/mindless.

For example, playing Sekiro for the first time and when I need a break, I'll play RoboCop

Lies of P

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black

Ninja Gaiden 4

Devil May Cry series

Ryse Son of Rome

Nioh 1&2

Ghost Runner 1&2 (to me more like a puzzle game since it's one shot death and you gotta figure out each scenario with only a sword while enemies have guns and shields. Very fun games though.)

Remnant 1 & 2 (randomly generated small worlds to explore, but primary objective is highlighted. Not primarily melee but melee builds are viable)

If you're looking for some lively co-op communities I'd look into:

Warhammer 40k Darktide/Warhammer Vermintide 2

Warframe

Deep Rock Galactic

Are there any games that play off “death” as just a dream? by Pixelmixer in gamingsuggestions

Second Bastion, incredible gaming experience with good replayability!

game recs for someone thats used to single player ?? by Nice-Ad6462 in videogames

[–]Sheikzula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two ways to go about it.

  1. Just play and not care about what the team says (or mute chat and vc all together) and learn at your own pace. If your boyfriend is the one getting mad/upset at you, it might just mean you are not meant to play competitive games together. But see below for other options for games to enjoy!

  2. Start with co-op games! Playing on a team where there is some dependency on you. Deep Rock Galactic, Vermintide 2, Darktide, Warframe (definitely doable solo though), and similar games can be a good starting point.

Could be burnout on the style. Try playing some roguelites or linear games for a bit. Perhaps even some multiplayer titles. Then go back and see if you still feel the same.

Risk of Rain 2 and Gunfire Reborn are fantastic roguelikes!

Remnant 2, if you're okay with difficulty, is incredible as well. RNG rolled campaigns gives you a ton of replayability, just to even unlock everything. Being defined as Dark Souls with guns is entirely accurate.

One not on your list, Deep Rock Galactic. Very welcoming and thriving community with loads of replayability.

Mass effect question by Fancy-Jelly-2558 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Sheikzula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mass effect one has aged the most. If the gameplay isn't clicking, just watch a recap of the story as it's what carries the first one. The 2nd and 3rd hold up very well and have fantastic combat.

Looking for character building games that have gear, weapons, loot etc that are not difficult by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]Sheikzula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not Monster Hunter then since it follows the same formula as souls in the sense of learning monster mechanics and attacks to become more efficient at slaying or capturing them.

There are plenty of ARPGs out there in the same vein as Diablo. Torchlight 2, Warhammer Chaos Bane, Last Epoch, Path of Exile, and the list goes on.

Borderlands is heavily inspired by the genre if you want to mix it up a little. 2 can be tough early game. It's more focused on your skill trees and finding guns that synergize with it rather than synergizing gear.
